Westward Rope and Wire

I restore cars and motorcycles with most of the replacement bolts and screws bought here. It's brilliant, as is the guy working there.

Traveled up from Paignton /Torbay as advertised on the web site and the sign outside the unit, as being open from 9am until 1 pm on Saturdays.It was shut!!Neighbouring businesses said shop frequently does not open on a Saturday depending on how they feel !!Phoned but no response.Another customer arrived while we were there on an emergency requirement prior to continuing to Cornwall.Very very disappointing and not my idea of good business practice.

We had a wire trellis made up and a custom balustrade modelled on boat rigging for our decking area. Looks amazing and all made up to order. Great prices and the staff were very helpful. Thanks Dan for getting it done so quickly!

Twice now Andy has been incredibly helpful and sorted me out some mooring strops in quick time to avoid disaster. I will definitely use these guys again and would happily recommend to others

These people are fantastic- they dont mind if I buy one nut or 200- I get the same helpful treatment. They probably curse I keep coming back for just a handful of nuts and washers- but pennies mount up and I would never go anywhere else!!! Great service, good people- they deserve our support!

I called westward rope and wire to get help with sizing for my rope for my decking. I spoke to Dan and his customer service was above and beyond! He sent me rope samples to help me make a decision and supported me with the most cost effective way, that I could have what I wanted without sacrificing the style I wanted. I would definitely recommend them and their services for any of your rope and wire needs!

Took boat guard wires ro be re made over 3 weeks ago and still not bothered to make them, even after being told a by boss the wrong wire had come in and I agreed to make them from that. Ordered a kit from force 4 chandlery and got them in 48 hrs. No apology when I collected the old wires and a really can't be bothered attitude. Waste of my time and 90 mile round trip. Customer service was appalling and will never use or recommend.

I have twice ordered wire loops from Westward Rope and Wire and on both occasions I received a call from Dan the same day advising me they were made and ready for collection. A few days later the drive wire on my lawnmower snapped and Dan added another wire and connected it to the handle, again on the same day!. You cannot fault this service. Dan is extremely helpful and this is an excellent example of how a business should be run. Thank you and well done. I will definitely be using this company again.

Worst online shopping experience ever!Ordered some bolts & keel rollers on 7th July (Sunday) and paid for next day delivery for 9th. Their online shop failed to mail any form of order acknowledgement or invoice (not a good sign), I only received a payment notification from PayPal.As their was no notification, I phoned the shop on Tues to confirm delivery would be made that day only to be met with 'didn't somebody 'phone you?'. Clearly not! He went on to say that most of what I'd ordered wasn't in stock and I shouldn't have been able to order it anyway!As you might imagine, I wasn't really interested in the shortcomings of their website. There was no apology or seemingly any concern whatsoever so I requested they cancel the order and refund my Paypal account. Should have taken no more than 5 mins. Despite another call and promise to refund plus a further email when they still didn't, we're now two weeks on and still no refund. I've just had to open a case with PayPal to get them to step in. What is wrong with these people? They boast about 25 yrs in business but if they treat all their customers as they treated me, I doubt if they'll last another 25.

This is the second time I've ordered rope from Dan at Westward Rope and Wire and his level of customer service and assistance has been superb on both occasions. The quality of the product is great and I would certainly purchase from here again and recommend to anyone else.
