Poulton Hill Vineyard

I visited the vineyard with a close friend who was over from Indianapolis. I have visited many vineyards before, mainly in France and North America. Although small, Poulton Hills is a picturesque vineyard in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds. The tour was provided by Natalie who manages the vineyard with Laura. It is clearly very well run and Natalie talked us through the work that goes into the vineyard from the planting of the vines to the maintenance of the vines; from pruning right through the growing season to harvest time. It was such an interesting insight into the workings of a vineyard and it’s dependence on the appropriate weather conditions for each stage. They grow a range of grape varieties and even have had the courage to try their hand successfully growing Pinot Noir, notoriously difficult grape variety. The tour ends in the shop with a tasting of four of their wines including a couple of award winners. They were all delicious but particularly, for me, the Bulari sparkling white wine. My American friend was fascinated by the whole experience in such beautiful settings. Highly recommended.

An enjoyable morning learning about grape growing process, the staff work so hard maintaining the vines but well worth it, the wines were excellent. All staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth a visit and the voucher towards purchasing wines makes it good value.

We really enjoyed our visit and gained a lot from the experience. We never knew there was so much work involved in producing a good wine! Natalie and Laura are both great hosts and the tour was very informative. The wines we tasted were all good and we had a lovely couple of hours. So good we have volunteered for grape picking this Autumn. Looking forward to it

Myself and my partner attended the tour on Saturday 9th July 2022 following a recent proposal, the vineyard was the perfect addition to our special weekend and Laura and Natalie could not have been more accommodating. The weather was beautiful, the wines were absolutely outstanding, and they provided us with some celebratory roses freshly picked from their vineyard, and kindly arranged for us to drink our bubbles outside in front of the beautiful scenery. Would highly recommend, it also makes you realise how much hard work goes into their work, and they do an outstanding job! Xxxx

We went on a Vineyard tour at Poulton Hill. It was a great experience being taken round by Laura and Natalie who were really knowledgable, personable and engaging about the vineyard, the vines and the wines. Tasting was really good as the wines were lovely. Highly recommend a tour and the wine.

We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tour and tasting experience at Poulton Hill. We learnt so much about each different type of vine and how they are looked after across the year with tender loving care. There is obviously a lot of passion and pride that goes into making the wines here. The tasting was great fun and the descriptions of each wine really helped us savour the differences between them. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon. Highly recommended.

Had a great day at Poulton Hill. Natalie and Courtney did an amazing job. We had a really informative vineyard tour from Natalie (and India!) and discovered just how much work goes into nurturing and maintaining the vines.We were then treated to tasting of four of their wines (a sparkling, two sill white wines and a Rose) in their lovely tasting room. The wines were of a really high standard and Natalie and Courtney took time to inform us of the journey that each wine went on, before becoming the finished product in the glass. I would highly recommend a visit.

The wine tour and tasting was really interesting and brought home how much manual effort is required in the art of winemaking. The tour is totally recommended to anyone who enjoys a glass of wine, it was fascinating to learn the steps required to grow grapes suitable for winemaking. Thank you Natalie and Courtney.

Had a wine tasting on 1/12. Lovely experience. Natalie and Courtney did a great job with their presentation of the wine, details of the vineyard and descriptions of the tastings. Can’t believe how many awards the wines have gained already! Hopefully next time we come they won’t have sold out on the reds, though I was more than happy with the selection available. Also great to see them partnering with other local businesses, we came away with a few supplies. Well done everyone, great to see.
