The Groom Room Basingstoke

Took our mixed breed down this morningTold the girl that he can't be shaved as he has a double coat. Also made it clear he needed his nails cutting.Picked him up and they'd done a proper hack job. Had shaved him (!!) And not cut his nails as they said he was aggressive.Will never use again.

Horrible and upsetting experience here sadly. The person's working looked very stressed with the dogs and at one point I caught one of them pointing and shouting agressively to one of the dogs on the table to be quiet. If you can't handle dogs you shouldn't be in that profession. Needless to say I reported their behavior and also the fact I had a wet dog with half his appointment carried out. I would never leave my dog in their care again. Avoid.

Paid for a full groom said couldn't clip due to coat length which I was fine with. Agreed to cut areas that are long yet nothing taken off neck and under belly which are areas that look untidy on him. Wouldn't go back and will try else where from now on

Bluebelle enjoys her visits to the Groom Room. Staff are friendly and helpful. Thank you for making her feel and look a million dollars. What a fantastic strut she had walking out of the store!

Very friendly. Great with my dog and did everything I asked for. Have booked to go again in 3 months.

Only one stylist in the groom room had to wait a week to only be told on the day unable due to sickness not a problem with illness but to then not to be able to book again because of availability and only times is when im working from 1pm .. how can you run a business with just one stylist in store. Well wont be trying to use them again sad really

Very disappointed by my recent visit had made booking 6 weeks earlier, arrived on the day with my puppy, loads of dogs were in for a groom. Left puppy only to receive a call less than 10 minutes after leaving him, as they couldn't clip him as he was too nervous and didn't like the noise of the other dogs. When I was waiting to get into the shop, we saw our puppy was wandering around on the floor, only when we were spotted waiting was he quickly picked up and held. It was obvious too many dogs had been booked in. Very disappointed, as I was told go to a dog groomer who can manage him. Despite them grooming him 6 weeks earlier. Is this how you treat customers and turn away business. I think not!!! I will not be returning!

Fantastic. Groomers were so friendly on arrival, and seemed to genuinely love their work - instead of looking at my Old English Sheepdog puppy as a big job, they couldn't wait to get to work. He now looks sleeker and healthier than he ever has, not to mention smells better. Thank you, Groom Room!

The Online Booking site is useless and then worse than useless. The local branch Groomers (Basingstoke) do a great job with the canines, as good as could be expected but the service, attention to detail, telephone answering is absolute amateur in every way. The branch survives only due to lack of a better service in the area.

Says pop in, no appointments necessary but girl said flat out no for a quick nail trim on a small friendly chihuahua.
