Gill, is an amazing teacher, her classes are always well planned whether it’s patchwork & quilting, dressmaking, bag making etc. It is always fun and you learn so much! Gill is very generous with her time and wants us all to succeed. The homemade cakes are a bonus!

Gill is an amazing and talented teacher of sewing and quilting! Her classes are always fun and cover a wide range of topics from bags to dresses, quilts, cushions also much more, she is a mine of information and always ready to help with tricky bits! She teachers all ages and experience levels and is particularly good at encouraging young sewers.

I recently did a zoom day workshop with Gill to make the Solstice quilt. it was a fabulous workshop and i really enjoyed the interaction throughout the day with the other participants. Gill sent out the pattern in advance of the day with ideas of optional advance preparation we could do. We had live demonstrations from Gill of assembling the quilts and we could ask further questions as we went along. She also had pre -recorded a video and diagrams for several suggestions of quilts designs. I actually completed the quilt within 3 weeks and was very pleased with the result. I can highly recommend Gill's teaching and particularly the online workshops.

My 14-year old daughter and her friend have been having lessons with Gill for a year and they LOVE going. Gill is warm, friendly and welcoming and has taken the girls under her wing. They have learned so much, and most importantly they make things which interest them such as sweatshirts, printed cushions and travel pouches (not the usual puppets and stuffed toys which a lot of sewing classes make). I'm so glad we found Gill and would recommend her for any teenager looking to learn an amazing skill.

I started with the 2019 doodle challenge, then joined a class in late 2019 and have continued ever since - more classes, more doodling, and lots of laughs along the way. Gill is extremely knowledgeable, creative and inspirational as a teacher. I would definitely encourage anyone to try a class.

I have been to several of Gill’s classes, including dressmaking, Christmas projects, cushions, patchwork and quilting and making a zipped box and have enjoyed them all. Gill is an excellent tutor, particularly at instilling confidence and the atmosphere at her classes is so friendly, helpful and instructive, not to mention the delicious cakes! I’m lucky to now be a member of one of Gill’s regular weekly sewing groups which is the highlight of my week.

I can definitely recommend Gill's classes, and especially the online classes. As someone who likes to learn at their own pace, and needs constant reinforcement with new techniques etc, the videos and interactive Zoom are fantastic. Clear and informative, they also show how important Gill's family and friends are to Gillymac Designs. But beyond this, Gill goes the extra mile - providing help and support during classes (and after) and with such lovely extra touches like generous prizes in the doodle challenge and welcome boxes full of goodies in the virtual retreats. I've signed up for more!

I started a beginners quilting class with Gill doubting I would ever be able to make anything as nice as the example quilt - with Gill's encouragement and excellent teaching I made my first ever quilt and I'm absolutely thrilled with it!Now there is no stopping me - with Gill's support I am tackling more quilts and loving every minute!Gill is a fantastic enabler and encourager - she is there to help whenever you get stuck but gives you the confidence to have a go by yourself - the perfect balance in my opinion.Taking a class with Gill was the best decision I've made in ages and I can't wait to keep doing more and learning from her - she is incredibly knowledgeable and has loads of creative ideas that she generously shares across her social media platforms too.To sum up, Gill and her classes are truly fab!
