Cilcain Fires

I can't praise Cilcain Fires enough. We bought the Euroheat Wham 3120, and despite my Wife insisting the Kitchen is the best investment we've made, I still think the Fire is the best investment by a mile! As well as looking stunning, it really warms the whole house through. Great service and a great price too.

We were really pleased with the installation from start to finish. Would definitely recommend to family and friends

Terrible, Awful, would not touch them again with a Barge Pole,Honestly I have never seen such a cock up by a supposedly expert team, I tell you do not do it with Cilcain there are rubbish,and I can prove it, if your serious come and see the bodge of a lifetime, just mail me and I'll send you our address

DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!Why... the list is endless.They failed to turn up on the day with the harth, stating that the company they had ordered it with, had not completed it. I was informed by the initial plasterer that this had happened before and in fact the harth had not been ordered! I had taken leave for 3 days for this. The plasterer had not been informed anything about the job and later contacted me to say that he was no longer completing jobs for Cilcain Fires due to their lack of communication.The following week the fire was fitted and another plasterer turned up (this person worked for Airbus and did plastering on his days off. Our fire was an inset one and required heat proof plastering. He had not worked with this before.Once completed, just prior to Christmas Day, I painted the wall but the plastering was uneven. Will the owner of Cilcain Fires stated he would skim over the plaster in the new year. In the new year this was completed. Once dry and painted, the fire was lit and GUESS WHAT... the plastering bubbled above the fire, resulting in the plastering cracking and falling off. I made enquirers with the supplier of the heat proof plastering who stated you should never plaster over heat proof with normal plaster. We also ascertained that two coats of this plaster should have been put on!Will contacted me requesting I find a plasterer. Unfortunately at this stage I had made payment apart from £500. I informed Will that it was his job to find a plasterer not me. However I did find a plasterer and when I informed them, they stated they had one. He called and appeared to know what he was doing. Arrangements were made but GUESS WHAT... yes he did not turn up... why? I got in touch with the plasterer and he stated that he was waiting for the go ahead. I later found out that the price for the correction was over £700 and Cilcain Fires would not pay. It ended by them stating that I could use the £500 I still owed to them to find a plasterer and sort it out myself!!! At this stage we were in June... I had spent months looking at a patched up wall and was embarrassed for anyone visiting the house!I got in touch with Trading Standards which resulted in me having to find a plasterer to correct it but it would have to be within the region of £500. ......PLEASE do not use this company, unless you want a challenge!!!!The one star is for the fitter, he was very good and pleasant and I got the impression that he obviously puts up with a lot of issues from customers due to Cilcain Fires unprofessional service.

I made an appointment for a quote for 12pm, guess what, it's now 1.15pm and no one has bothered to turn up. I had to telephone to find out the delay at 12.15 and was told he would be with me in twenty minutes! Good job I telephoned as they didn't have the decency to let me know, but as he's still not arrived I've told them if this is how they do business I am not interested. Not impressed at all.

Let down with initial delivery then told fire would be installed but on getting home found fire not connected so therefore unuseable.When installed the fire place was damaged by poor installation of the closure plate.Cilcain chased me for money before putting the job right. All in all poor service and still waiting for an apology - I won't hold my breath.
