I brought my cat, who had a limp, which seem to have gotten worse and she became uncharacteristically angry and threatening. Everyone from reception to vets were super nice and understanding. They were thorough and sympathetic. My cat was put on antibiotics and is recovering. Thank you so much village very hospital at Hampstead.

Extremely poor service. The reason being is that I brought my dog in for an emergency appointment on Friday 6 October and saw Ines. I was was advised as a preferred option to admit him as he had a fever of 40 and a respiratory virus infection. I was also given an alternative option of two injections (antibiotic and anti inflammatory ) and take him home but bring him back in the morning for a booked appointment with Ines or if she is unavailable due to an emergency someone else needs to see him to take his temperature and check it has dropped otherwise if not he needs to be admitted. I took the second option and I came back the next day at 10 am for the booked appointment and was told by the receptionist that Ines cannot see me as unfortunately she was in an emergency and no one else can see me at all as everyone is dealing with saving a dog’s life. The receptionist said to me that my dog does not look like he is in an emergency situation. I ask the receptionist if she is trained to visually diagnose a dog? She ignored the question and just repeated nothing to be done and no one can help and I should be thankful that he is not in an emergency situation. Notwithstanding that I suffer from anxiety and going through the menopause which I explained to the receptionist but she continued to distress me in front of others and I felt humiliated. I believe that Village Vet has a legal obligation and there is a higher ‘consumer duty’ of care to treat ALL consumers equally with respect and dignity and not be discriminated against because it is how I perceive the situation to be and I believed that my dog was in an emergency situation as he felt very warm still and had not eaten for 2 days or drunk and was bringing up mucous. I was distressed and sent away suffering an anxiety attack.

We brought our cat in to Village Vet on a Friday evening, as a precaution as she was breathing quite quickly and heavily during the day. Upon arriving and speaking with the vet, we agreed to send her for an ultrasound scan of her chest to see if there was any fluid trapped in lungs, again, purely as a precaution. After this, another vet appeared and announced that the scan had shown that one of her lungs was entirely filled with fluid" and she was now "struggling to breathe". On top of this

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank the wonderful vets at Hampstead Sam,Adam and Helen for being so caring ,knowledgeable, and thoughtful when caring for my gorgeous cat Poppy! They are so professional and couldn’t have looked after Peter and myself too as at one point my gorgeous cat went into cardiac arrest when we first took her there! Three months later she has made a wonderful recovery and only on one form of medication and alive ! Just wonderful Lynda Wood ❤️

This is not an emergency service. Stop advertising it as an emergency service, when you have absolutely incompetent doctors there on emergency. I would have given this negative stars if I could for advertising itself as an emergency service. We went here for our ailing guinea pig on an early Sunday morning & were met by an unwelcoming & rude doctor Dr. Imola. Being first time pet owners, we had very little knowledge of what to expect, but a calm welcoming doctor was the least we could expect. No one visits an emergency for fun, the doctor didn't even try to make us comfortable. Our little one was in a serious state, all she told us was the breathing wasn't normal & we ll have to put him on oxygen, no clues of what we should expect. She had a very rude demeanour, no details given, nothing. She rolled her eyes when we asked for details. She told us if we don't put out little one on oxygen we will just lose our little one very bluntly, and there was absolutely no empathy in what she was saying. We would have expected a little more explanation of what to expect, there was no sign of empathy. And we paid about £275 for this 15 min consultation with this completely inexperienced doctor. I am not paying £275 for incompetency. But you really need to improve on your emergency service doctors especially if you are going to charge that money, atleast train them on empathy and how to handle pet parents who are already in distress!!I will also just add that Doctor Adam Fink who took over after the emergency shift was over, was really great, I would say if he is around, only then go here!

My visit to the Village Vet was so lovely. I discovered a mass/lump on my african pygmy hedgehog. She was seen by Allison, who could not have been better. She did a fantastic job at putting me at ease and diagnosed my hedgehog very quickly (thankfully it was nothing serious). It was evident how knowledgable she is on these exotic animals and I could not be more grateful for that! The receptionists were also so kind and welcoming. 10/10 experience.

Stay away.Incompetent doctors, no actual emergency service. They are only there to take your money, they don’t care about your pet (or “animal” as they refer to pets), or your emotional state if your loved pet is seriously unwell. My experience with this practice was only negative and when my dog was seen the care provided was incorrect and lead to further problems. When my dog needed urgent medical care Villa Vet Belsize failed to provide it (despite me coming into the hospital with him - we were sent away - and my dog was BLEEDING FROM HIS EYE)I was promised I’d be called if there’s availability but there wasn’t, when I called again the level of rudeness of staff was unbelievable. Just appalling really. Please trust me when I tell you this are unprofessional, uncaring people. There are plenty of good vet practices out there - stay away from this one.Ps I believe many of the reviews here with 5 star are fake - why do they all have images of dogs? Most people don’t include images in their reviews, here suddenly many decided to? I also see a lot of people agree with my review re this place. It’s DISGRACEFUL.

I am so grateful to the brilliant staff at this practice, especially Ines, Sui and Helen. They cared for my cat in their hospital for 4 days with such compassion and care, and even though I moved out of London while he was still recovering at home, they have provided teleconsults and support over email the entire time. I would wholeheartedly recommend Village Vet Hampstead to anyone in London. Thank you so much for all you do!!

I have had 2 pets die here in the most distasteful manner. Both times they adjust the charges and suddenly increase fees when you are at your lowest ebb. The last time I came 8 pm on a Friday night and was charged £275 just for the vet to look at her, I am a doctor the Vet did hardly anything for that fee the exam was less than 2 minutes. Then we were told in front of my husband and adult children an overnight stay was £175. So we agreed but when we came out to pay we were told £875 - we said the Vet had said £175 so they called the Vet out of her room and she said sorry for getting it wrong but I suspect the receptionist for making up the fee. As all this happened another couple came in to pick up their cat and the receptionist said £970, then the man questioned this and said it was supposed to be £700 for their cat. We left our cat and I rang 2 hrs later - the Vet said she had done blood tests and the cat was very unwell so I agreed to put her down. We went back and the cat stood up but as she did this the vet injected the stuff and she collapsed in front of my children who are now haunted by this as she couldn't be bothered to wait as we said our goodbyes. It was absolutely disgusting and the Vet just out to rip us off as much as she could. I would avoid, A place full of lies and no humanity. In the end I paid £1200 FOR NOTHING. DISGUSTING. RIP OFF.
