Yarrow Cookery School
My wife and I attended the Indian food cookery course and it was such a brilliant day. I picked up so many cooking tips, we got to enjoy all of the food we made and worked together to get through all the elements of the dishes. Richard is very professional, talented and is an excellent teacher. This was an excellent experience and I’d recommend it to anyone from a novice chef to someone who’s more skilled and confident just looking to expand their skill set and enjoy a fun day.

Great fun. Chef Richard created an excellent environment that pulled a bunch of random folks into a well-oiled (mostly) machine to produce a fantastic meal. All while learning some new techniques and approaches.

Excellent course. Very friendly and helpful and not the least intimidating. The group was small enough for individual attention, I learnt lots of tips and ideas and will definitely be using the recipes. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Was gifted a private cooking class with Richard. Richard and Sophia were extremely welcoming hosts. We enjoyed everything thoroughly from working out our menu in advance with Richard, to arriving and getting an orientation over coffee, to creating all the dishes together. Richard gave great tips and insight throughout and we ate really well at the end! A fab day out and experience.

We had a fantastic day with Richard at Yarrow Cookery School. We opted for a private lesson which was completely tailored to our needs and tastes. Richard was informative and despite all being experienced cooks, we all learned useful nuggets from him! The food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend - even for confident cooks!

Fantastic experience at pasta making class! Richard is an exceptional teacher and made everyone in the group feel welcome. Goes the extra mile by showing tips and techniques that you can use in everyday cooking at home. Recipe ingredients are things people are likely to have in fridge or cupboard at home so it makes it possible to make same tasty dishes at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a high quality and fun cooking class experience!

Excellent day learning essentials of Indian cookery. Nice, calm session with 4 others discovering how to make curries, onion bhajis and naan bread. Everyone was very involved in creating meals which we then ate at lunchtime. We were encouraged to get our hands into all the preparation and cooking - no-one was missed out. I approached the day hoping to come away able to make a naan bread or onion bhaji ; I left knowing not only that but also how to make curry pastes from scratch and how to make sweet chili dipping sauce. Great value and will certainly be signing up for further courses when they open their new facility at Longniddry.

A fabulous day learning the art of pasta making. Richard made the class very relaxed and fun whilst teaching the skills we needed. A variety of dishes made and enjoyed - Italian pork tortellini and butternut squash ravioli were delicious. Thank you

We had a great private cookery class with Richard, cooking a delicious 3-course seasonal menu. I enjoyed the hands on approach (the best way to learn!) and I'm looking forward to trying some of the recipes out at home. The raspberry soufflé in particular was incredible!
