Sabrosa Oxton

Always leave Oxton disappointed and this place is no exception.Food was either bland at its best or overseasoned and verging on inedible at it's worst.Portion sizes are generous to be fair and the Spanish black pudding and paella were ok but no better than I can cook at home myself.Tomato bread left uneaten after one slice it was that bad, olives also ordered as an appetizer didn't turn up until we were asked if ready for our mains (considering they are kept in a bowl at the bar right next to our table just added insult to injury)Chicken tears just tasted of salt, calamari well battered but bland whilst patatas bravas had the strange sensation of being overly spicy hot without actually tasting of anything.It says something when you leave a restaurant commenting that you've had better food at a chain pub like the Clipper at a fraction of the cost.... Sadly that was the case for us.All in all won't be back and it hasn't enticed my back to Oxton. With significantly better options in Liverpool for a similar price just the inconvenience of a taxi or far better options elsewhere on the wirral I am really surprised by the previous reviews but each to their own

Visited this evening for the first time. Been looking forward to it but left feeling completely unsatisfied. The service was as attentive as a local pub rather than restaurant standard. We were pointed towards an area where there were tables and told to pick one but 2 of these were actual dirty. After sitting down at a dirty table we then moved ourselves to a clean table in the restaurant. We had no check back and we weren't even asked after our meals how it was just, are you finished". Other than the food as a whole being a let down with flavours (not a fan of smoked paprika on everything)

Booked a table for 4 people. Ordered drinks 2 beers and a bottle of white wine and a jug of soda water to make our own long drinks. The wine and beer arrived and I reminded the waitress that we wanted soda. She brought a bottle of sparkling water which we rejected. She then said that they had soda water in the kitchen and brought us a half jug of something that was really just water and diluted the wine.We gave up and ordered food. Appetisers of Olives came in a bowl complete with the brine they had been stored in. Garlic bread was bland, but smelt very garlicky.We each ordered 2 tapas which were ok. Just ok. Portion sizes were fair.Service was same, just fair. Prices were a bit steep. I'd expect to pay £8 a dish in Liverpool. I get that everything has gone up but it wasn't worth what we paid.

Delicious, authentic food and consistently sized portions. We got 3 tapas each but could have got away with 2. Lovely bonbon coffee too!

We only popped in for a post-meal coffee and liquor but the authentic ambiance and friendliness of the staff made us ask for the menu for future reference. we’ll definitely be back there to eat.There’s such a great selection of dishes and from what we saw of other diner’s meals the food looked and smelled amazing. It’s an authentic slice of Spain in Oxton village and we can’t wait to return here to eat.

I had a lovely evening out at Sabrosa with my friends! There were loads of dishes to choose from and everyone enjoyed the meal. We ordered 2-4 dishes each according to each person’s appetite, and followed up with dessert. The atmosphere was lively but not too loud and the staff were all very friendly ☺️

Cosy restaurant with large tapas portions, great location for a little date night. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend the skewers! We will be back.

Superb tapas in a lovely casual, village setting. Been visiting & having takeaways from here for over 2 years and it’s consistently authentic and delicious.

Excellent tapas restaurant. Food was lovely and service was great - really friendly staff. Was fully booked when we went with a number of people getting turned away due to lack of space - great sign of consistency. Will definitely be going back.

Amazing little tapas restaurant serving delicious food including a good selection of vegan options. The drinks selection is great and even includes some delicious Spanish cocktails! The owner is lovely and the staff are all really nice and welcoming. Totally recommend!
