In June this year I took my 2020 840i BMW to a local non-BMW garage as the front rotors had warped. I explained that I had no faith in the quality of BMW rotors and was looking for non-OEM parts to be fitted to my 840i. However, I was convinced to have BMW rotors and pads fitted to my 840i. This took place at my local garage on 22nd June 2023 using BMW OEM parts, costing me £922.73. The mileage on my vehicle at that time was 12,800 miles – I returned to my local garage again on the 5th September (mileage then at 15,225) as I was experiencing a return to vibration through the steering wheel as the front rotors had warped again. My local garage is an MOT Testing Centre and examined my car thoroughly, deducing the following:• Issue with recently fitted front BMW discs & pads (June23)• Investigated brake judder on road test.• Judder felt at feet and steering wheel.• Place vehicle on brake tester. Nearside front had 10 kgf pulse on half pressure. All other corners 2-3 kgf.• Suspect Nearside front disc out of true - visual inspection.• Nearside front discs - marking on outer face.• Car has driven 2442 since brake was changed.BMW Cotswold (Hereford) supplied the brake parts and were contacted regarding a warranty claim. I was told I had to pay a non-refundable £156 to BMW to conduct an examination of my vehicle and the faulty parts. I agreed to pay the fee, but asked to be reimbursed when they confirmed the findings of my local garage – BMW refused and said if I want to proceed with a claim I had to pay up!I believe BMW rotors are not fit for purpose.

Four weeks ago I wrote a very negative review of Cotswold (Hereford) BMW about their supplied brake parts where I was told I had to pay a non-refundable £156 to BMW to conduct an examination of my vehicle and the faulty parts for a warranty claim. They waived the fee, inspected the brakes and agreed one had warped, replaced both front rotors and installed new pads. During their vehicle inspection they found another faulty part - which I knew nothing about - and replaced this too.Excellent customer service isn't just about meeting needs, it's about exceeding expectations at every turn, especially when resolving issues. The worst BMW service! I had a recall for air bags, when I picked up my car i discovered scratches on my interior trims. And what? Nothing. They said I don't have pictures before so they don't take responsibility for this. Awful place. For further recalls for sure I will choose another service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND or take 1000s photos of your car in and out before you leave a car there!
