Had a 3 course Sunday lunch which was outstanding. Good portion sizes which tasted great. Service and staff were both really good. Would highly recommend.

Was asked to do balloons here for a customers partners Birthday, upon arrival the staff were friendly and helpful, I didn't eat but wow the aroma of the freshly cooked food hit you as soon as you walked in. I've said to all the family that we have to come here for a first visit, The deco is modern and well kept so overall I'd definitely recommend you and you're family coming here and trying it out for something different. It's set back away from the town so the views are highly recommended as it's up in the hills of Belmont.

Landlady is very rude and seems to have an issue with all women. She is very attentive to men and will pretend to be welcoming and respectful. However, the truth is she clearly is very insecure and rude to female customers. I even mentioned it to the bar staff and they looked at me with me knowing look, obviously unable to say the truth, but they knew. Until she goes I won’t be going back.

Between 1300-1400 we rang and asked if we could make a reservation for three adults and a 6month old. We were told 1500 but they would need the table back at 1745 we turned up around 10 minutes early. From the get go the place was, “off” standing at the bar with a pram, the staff seemed purposefully ignorant to us. Not so much as a “have you booked a table, I’ll be with you in a minute” - it was like we were in the way although there was no one at the bar. I had to ask the barmaid “is this where you go if you’ve booked a table?” As it wasn’t obvious and noone wanted to help.We were then seated. On the table was a chalkboard with 1500-1745 on it. In the far corner of the restaurant I spotted a stack of high chairs. I positioned the pram there and then proceeded in taking a high chair (note I had no issue doing this). For some reason though the owner thought it would be best to start on her not so merry way of jibe like comments “if you had told us you needed a high chair we would have had one out already”. I hadn’t said a thing so why this was necessary I don’t know.Starters were really nice, delivered promptly and all near enough at the same time and as were the mains. The wait staff and food was great and attentive and that is the only reason why this is two star. The time is 1722 and whilst we were finishing up our drinks the owner came over and I couldn’t believe it “can you just move that menu so I can see that chalkboard…. (Mumbles as walking away) nearly 1745” then over the next 3 or so minutes she keeps returning to the table collecting one item at a time whilst checking her watch.Even as we were leaving comments were being made and it was before 1740.We will not be returning the owner/management has a disgusting attitude. Politeness costs nothing. I’d have rather have had an awful meal but hospitable service then what we had on Saturday.

We popped in here after a nice long walk around the estate, we didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality, friendly service and cosy decor and ambience. I had the black pudding and a mustard sauce starter which was delicious, for main I had the pan fried chicken which great and the sticky toffee pudding for desert, again amazing. Would really recommend.

Just been down for dinner 6 of us and a 15 week old cocker spaniel, dog was well behaved sat down on the lead in a quiet pub. One of the owners came over with slippers on and had a go saying the dog should be sat directly next to the chair when he was 1m at most eating a bone. He then proceeded to pick the dog up by the collar and put him next to me. When spoken to about it being a dog friendly pub he proceeded to tell me it was a dog tolerant pub. Food was cold and tiny portion sizes beer tasted like vinegar Would not recommend especially with a dog.

The food was amazing. The service was amazing as well apart from the manager (blonde haired women, who was rude and never smiled.) Also they don't have dog water bowls unless you bring your own. (Dog friendly pub) funny isn't it. Would still go again though, purely for the food and the waiters that did serve us.

This place is always full with booking which says alot. I've never had a bad meal here. You do have to book in advance which sometimes can be hard work buy its always worth ringing them anyways to see if they can squeeze you in. Clean, modern and lovely food
