The Lawns Hotel
Rooms very small and tired, old bathrooms, dusty skirting boards and behind bed. Pillows no protectors and disgustingly stained. Asked for them to be changed or double cases, came back same pillows different cases only 1! Had to sleep on a towel! The place itself could be good, just needs ATD and some money thrown at the rooms. Bit out of way for derby itself. Wouldn't return

On arrival I was greeted by owner, who was straight in with does and don't about smoking and that the smoke detectors are very sensitive and if set off, this would be trouble, instead of asking me first if I smoked or not. As it happens I don't.Within 45mins of being in room the fire alarm tripped. As I was making my way out to muster point I was informed it was a false alarm?After settling I went to the bar to get food and a drink. I ordered a cheese burger and fries which was very disappointing as there was no salad on it, no coleslaw and everything crambed on a small plate.Final, when I turned in about 9:30pm, my room was filled with the boom boom of the music downstairs. This carried on till about 11pm, then I got to sleep. Sorry, not a great stay.

Stayed for one night before camping at Download Festival. Super friendly and attentive staff, good bar and food. Rooms are on the small side and quite thin walls, bed quite small. Good shower and amazing breakfast included!! Will definitely come back! Also has car park for free!

Bar was a 1st class experience & room and bed also. Unfortunately the bath / shower facility was very dated and old n pass its use by. However, overlooking this we had a great 4 night stay as the evenings entertainment was great.10mins to donnington race track & would rebook

We spent a night at this hotel. We arrived late evening at 10pm, the staff called me to confirm my arrival, we were just arrived when he calling, we had speedy check in and he showed us around the hotel, the facility and led us to the room. The staff were friendly and polite. The bar was full of people celebrating, but we can’t hear any noise in our room. The included continental breakfast was so great, toasts, croissants were serving hot and tasty. We had nice experiences at this hotel, it’s value for money. Would recommend.

Pleasant surroundings. However rooms are small and hardly no cupboard space to hang anything. With, comfortable double bed, hard to move around with space limited. To open window have to stand on bed and stretch to reach. Apart from that clean and as said bed comfortable. Pillows comfortable however, have plastic covers under pillow case which can make it hot

I'm a very sceptical person but the beers here are amazing and great value. Sarah was am amazing and friendly face behind the bar and Gary, the cheff, quite literally produces the best scotch eggs ever. Always a pleasant experience here

Went for a night out, didn't stay in any rooms. The bar had a good selection of beers and ciders. Both inside and out are nice places to relax with a drink with friends. It was absolutely packed out when I was there on a Saturday night so obviously very popular with, I assume, the locals. Recommended.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Our first room had a slight issue, no major dramas but staff moved us without question.Food was fantastic in the pub.We were B&B but leaving early so would have missed the breakfast.... On the evening, staff member brought us over 3 takeaway boxes filled with fruit, pastries and jams. Such a great experience at this venue.Only one minor negative is the car par was a bit tight for a LWB work van. Other then that, brilliant.
