Extortionate prices - £750 for changing lock and night latch. This was not for an emergency, just called the locksmith because our lock was a bit fiddly.Locksmith misdiagnosed the problem twice - initially thought it was to do with the lock, then with the night latch. Eventually turned out it was with the opening in the door frame being narrow as the wood had swollen over time. Charged us anyway for a new lock and a new night latch and claimed they hadn't been in good shape. Be that as it may, it's the prices that really shocked me.Lock was charged 290 + VAT and the night latch 230 + VAT. Then labour on top. After the locksmith had left and I paid, I looked up these items (lock from Mul T Lock and night latch from Yale) and the same items can be each be bought for less than a third! I have no problem with people taking a small cut for materials over retail prices, say 10% or 20%. But 200%??? Come on! AVOID!!
