Rob Hobson Guitar Lessons

Rob is a great guitar teacher and has helped my son develop both his technical ability and understanding of Guitar theory in the past few months. My son has Autism and Rob has been absolutely fantastic with him adapting the material and teaching style to best suit my son's needs. Rob has a calm and thoughtful approach to teaching and always communicates with me about my son's progress. Rob is an extremely professional guitar tutor and I am delighted with the progress my son has been making under his tuition.

I've had guitar lessons with Rob for a few years now and I can highly recommend him as a guitar teacher. His teaching style is really flexible and he will adapt the lessons and material to suit your needs. My lessons with Rob have made a huge difference both in terms of my playing as well as my understanding of how to use the instrument when writing music. In addition- his knowledge of music theory and arranging just adds that bit of context that is often missing from music education. I started having my lessons in Leeds and I have continued with them after Rob moved to York. I guess that says it all

Rob is extremely professional and a great guitar tutor! He is friendly, thorough in his teaching and explanations, and has a patient manner which is particularly good for beginners. I have been having video lessons during covid where Rob has ensured they are as equally beneficial as face to face sessions and have remained consistently valuable throughout. I'm looking forward to continuing my lessons with Rob in future :)

I started having guitar lessons with Rob in 2018 as a beginner. Rob is friendly and supportive, going at my pace and with interesting lessons to help me understand different techniques and gain confidence. I can play some tunes and am delighted with the progress I have made under Rob's tuition.

I'm enjoying my lessons with Rob. He's attentive to what I want to achieve and sensitive as to what I can and can't do, targeting the content to ensure a measurable progression. I always leave the lesson knowing what to practise, how best to do that and what the next step will be. I'm dreadfully shy about playing. Rob deals with that and makes me feel I will be able to play. He's very supportive and has created extra materials for my personal learning needs. An excellent teacher and nice bloke.

I’m 64 and coming to music late in life. Rob is being a very patient teacher, clearly explaining the theory while giving me basic exercises to get me started on the guitar. He always has something positive to bring to a lesson.

Rob has been fantastic in helping me move on from the plateau of where I have been for many years as a guitarist He is knowledgeable, technically skilled and able to highlight key areas of focus for improvement based on individual needs. He has been adaptable to my learning style and circumstances and as well as being encouraging and motivating.
