It is really nice place. We had a big event there and they were soooo helpful and extend our hiring for free

Great place to hire canoes to explore the local waterways (and pubs!) There are both single sit on kayaks as well as larger Canadian canoes. Life jackets are provided as well as a safety briefing. There's also a toilet on site and Annie's café is next door.

So much fun and surprisingly adequate parking! (Go all the way there and through the tea room car park to find the car park- don't park on the road before you get there. I've seen a lot of people make that mistake thinking there's no parking because people are parked on the road on the way there. Those folks are parked for the village, not the canoe hire.)

We had a great hour in a canoe on the canal today. Staff very helpful, everything spotlessly clean and a really enjoyable paddle down the canal past canal boats, ducks and walkers. Would definitely recommend as a fun thing to do with children- our boys loved guiding the boat from the front.

Stumbled on this accidentally, lovely location, efficient staff, good value for money. I would go back for sure!

Lovely day out!Booked ahead, a few days before, booked a 2 seater canoe for 4 hours for £60.Call answered straight away.Paul, who sorted us out when we were there, was super friendly, gave us some great advice, seemed very professional, gave us lifejackets etc and some tips on where was a nice place to stop for a picnic.Canoe was great, no problems there.We went north but you could also go south. We passed two canal locks in two hours which we had to carry the canoe around but that was fine. There are areas to get out fairly easily and the canoes aren't that heavy.I think you could probably canoe in both directions for more than a day, but I don't know.The river was very pretty, lots of canal boats which are nice to look at, and leafy banks.Annie's Tearoom was also great. good menu and nice outdoor seating area.

This year it was our second visit at Thrupp Canoe and Kayak Hire and we always recommend the place to our friends. Staff is friendly and the kayaks are great. We always like paddling down the stationed boats and pass through the locks. It is a quiet, peaceful area, lots of views on both sides of the canal. All the chaps paddling the canal are friendly, never had any unfortunate encounters. Will definitely come back up in spring once the weather warms up again!
