Having expressed concerns regarding the attention of a “local” to my partner the barman Niel told us to move away rather than tell the guy it’s time to go home in fact he told us us to move somewhere else - ridiculous as we were having a decent conversation within ourselves

Read a review that said they did food. Turns out they don don't. I wasn't too upset as I wouldn't want to spend any time in such a dark, desperate, men only drinking den!One star for being dog friendly and having a very helpful barman.How anyone can rate this place as a good pub" I really don't know."

Great place for a private party. All drinks are available, music is on site for you to use. Catering for a buffet can be arranged also. Choose an afternoon on a Saturday and the kids will get up dancing with the oldies. Mark and his staff are attentive and will sort everything for you on your day. We booked the Royal Oak and had a very enjoyable surprise birthday party with all ages in our group and firmly would advise speaking to Mark to book this great venue.

The best pub on Duke Street! Staff are friendly and welcoming, and they have a wide selection of beverages both alcoholic and non alcoholic.
