Reception staff very friendly and welcoming. Joseph got us a lovely room on the second floor right next to the lift so we didn't have far to walk as we are a disabled couple. We took our 9 month dog who was also very welcomed. The room had a lovely view of the sea. It was very spacious. Decor was dated and the TV was tiny compared to the room size but apart from that no real complaints. At breakfast Alison was fantastic, she helped both my husband and myself by getting our breakfast and drinks and bringing it to the table for us. The other staff we saw were all very kind and always smiled. We would definitely go back here as it wasn't just the bi things that helped but the small things and that's what makes a successful place, thank you to all that made our stay and 13 year wedding anniversary special x

The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen and towels were spotless. However, there were no drawers in the room and only four hangers, on an open shelf/hanger unit.We had to leave most of our clothes in suitcases throughout our 5 day stay, which was a problem for us.Also, there was plaster outside the room, on the carpet, for most of our stay, which was never cleaned up.On one occasion, when I asked for extra milk for our room, the man on reception was very rude.Wouldn't stay here again.

Arrived today , left within 10 minutes, lift made creaking noises, room stank. Room very basic. We weren't happy to stay so left. Carpet worn , paint peeling and mould on windows. Bathroom basic, awful Chemical smell.Positive sea view. Sadly there's cheap which it was, but this was awful. For a large hotel chain appalling.

This is a one star hotel, so what we encountered far exceeded our expectations. The staff were lovely, so helpful; the location is absolutely perfect on the south beach and very close to the town/shopping street. As other reviewers have mentioned the building is tired and in need of renovation. We had a spacious room at the front with a bay window - unfortunately this leaked during the recent storm so luggage and chairs had to be moved to avoid getting wet. The toilet sounded like a donkey when flushed, the bathroom was tired but functional, a couple of lights didn't work (yes, we did report these). The lift sounded like it was powered by a hairdryer! Having said that, I would definitely stay here again. Bed was wonderfully comfortable; we also booked the buffet breakfast which was well worth it. Great for those on a budget and for short breaks.

Driving round for best part of an hour circling the one way system to get a parking spot close enough to the hotel so we didn't need to get the bus . Once in the hotel we were greeted by 2 lovely ladies on the check in desk and gave us verbal directions to our room , the signs in the hotel were quite confusing the place was like a maze walking round in circles trying to find our room .Our room like the rest of the hotel definitely needs updating/refreshing the soap dispenser in the bath room was hanging off the wall and the bathroom floor looked like it hadn't been mopped in a while.

Last minute night away and I was so pleased to get a room so cheaply. It’s just a bed for the night so what could go wrong? Actually, everything. The hotel is in a nice location and advertised sea views. My room was like a shoebox with views of a skip, rubbish bins and a car park which had lights that lit the room up all night. Also people congratulated out there making noise all night. The room was tiny. Not even a bedside cabinet or drawer. It was extremely basic and felt damp. The bathroom was tiny and well in need of an update. Toilet roll was practically see through. The tv turned itself on at 3 am waking me and my partner up, the remote wouldn’t work and it was blaring loud until we could work out how to turn it off.The place is like a rabbit warren of too narrow corridors poorly signposted. The lift can fit two normal size people or one large person only.On the evening, a lot of unsavoury people hung around the entrance to the hotel, meaning you had to ask them to let you past and walk through a billow of smoke and vape cloud. On the plus side, the reception staff were efficient and friendly. The bed was reasonably comfy and the water hot in the shower. All in all I’d never go back. If you get room 225, refuse it.

We had a good size room with a sea view. The room was basic but clean, the usual tea and coffee making facilities. Large bathroom with bath and shower. There was plenty of choice at breakfast which was a serve yourself buffet. Staff were helpful and friendly. All in all an enjoyable few days break.

No chance of parking here, which for a travel lodge is ridiculous. Not much chance of sleeping either weather it be fire alarms going off 5 times in 5 days for no reason other then a check, or house maids shouting and chatting and having full conversations outside the room door, keep in mind you can fit your hand under the door when shut. The rooms are tired and cold and smell like a mothballed closet. It's more like a hostel. In fact watch guesthouse paradiso with Rick Mail that represents this place 100%.
