Horribly far from city centre and not that well contacted especially in non-semester times (which almost of the year, as two semester are short one, that too have holidays like Christmas and Easter, which could be pain in a** if you stay there). So, think before you choose to stay in Wheatly campus halls.

This is a review of the campus, not the labs, staff or people at Wheatley. The year is 2023, the university is still holding onto this campus for whatever reason but have largely abandoned it. R-Block (engineering) has some really impressive equipment. There's no longer any students staying here so be prepared for a long bus ride from Headington. I highly recommend getting a private house as close as possible to a bus stop on the 400 route.Food options are extremely limited. There's a decent cafe, but they only serve one type of meal per day. They have some sandwiches if you want something else.My thing with this campus is how neglected it is by the university. People still come here every day, so might as well make it nice. The gym is really under equipped, but it does have a shower. Also past 6 pm, the busses reduce to 30 minute frequencies.

I have studied here for one semester as an International student. It's a big campus, the staff is really generous. Teachers are experimented. However, some parts of the campus is really old. The food is quite cheep even if it is not really tasty

I visited with my brother who is about to start his motorsports course soon. Old campus but looks like an interesting and a potential place to study.

This a review for the Wheatley Campus and has nothing to do with the courses offered at Brookes. The only reason for it getting 2 stars instead of 1 is the convenience of leaving at this campus when you're studying Motorsport engineering and being involved in formula student. In any other case then mentioned above, avoid this campus at all cost. The most annoying thing is the 38 week contract which leaves all masters students finishing at the end if September homeless. There options for other halls untill 31st if August but involving moving all you stuff for a 3 month stay. For September you're going to be homeless. Big shame on the accommodation bureau for not providing sufficient accommodation. The food here is terrible, it's always the same, a schedule that repeats almost every week. Lunch is not included in your catering package and every holiday or excuse like it's snowing they will close the restaurant. Big shame again on providing sufficient and healthy food. Chips is on the menu everyday. Please do not come for the food. Another downside with this is that the kitchen is not sufficient for cooking you own meals. There is a tiny oven that doesn't even fit a pizza, 1 microwave and 2 electric stoves which can only be switched on or off. Keep in mind you're sharing this with 6 people. In the year of 2017/2018 the toilets were clogged multiple times creating a lot of hassle. The showers are cubicles and are probably only 1.80m tall. Try showering when you're 1.98m...A good thing to say is that the people that work in the hall office are really friendly and they do try to help you. Unfortunately their hands are tied to whatever is available or whatever is the policy at Brookes accommodation. Big thanks for the support from the hall office at Wheatley.Another thing to point is that on my day of arrival there was a note saying that the flooring wasn't replaced yet but was due for refurbishment. This would happen as soon as possible. 38 weeks later I'm still waiting but have now left this campus.Busses during semester times are okay, although it's almost n hour to get into city centre... On holidays and during vacation period the buses are horrible. There is only a bus once every 30min or once an hour! See the timetable for u1 and u5. You're not allowed a car on campus or even in Oxford, which is an offence to your freedom in my opinion!!!!! Idiotic regulation, especially for motorsport students!I knows there are not that many detailed reviews of this campus therefore I took the effort to warn you before committing to live here. Don't let this influence your opinion about the courses offered at Brookes, they are good! Also, living here as a motorsport student is very convenient for the time being if you are dedicated enough to put with this place!

Do not go to this campus unless you are studying at Wheatley. 8 miles away from Oxford, the food is not worth the price you're being charged for, the buses run every 20-30 minutes on normal days, which is fine, but stop running completely on festives meaning you're effectively locked down from leaving the campus. The only pluses are fast internet connection, reliable reception + security and large common room. The cost, however, does not compensate for the crippling loneliness this post-communist-looking campus serves you. Avoid at all costs if studying somewhere else.

The best thing about Wheatley campus is David Lightfoot (for as long as he is still there!). I was lucky enough to have him as my dissertation supervisor and he was great. He also taught a data structures module I took in my second year which I really enjoyed and I learned a huge amount from.Facilities for students here are pretty good. You can pretty much always find somewhere quiet to work and the campus is equipped with modern PCs and fast WiFi if you want to bring your own device. The food at the restaurant is okay if a bit expensive. The lecture theatres and teaching rooms are mostly okay however some can get quite hot when full and could do with better ventilation. There's three 3-pin plugs available in the car park to charge an electric vehicle which is great and parking is very reasonably priced for students. The U1 bus into town is available regularly during semester time and is free for students (at least when I was a student).
