We are so pleased with Carl's work in designing, building and fitting wardrobes! Carl has a very good eye for design and spent considerable amount of time understanding our requirements, coming up with design options, checking these out with us and reworking. Only when he was confident we were happy did he start the build and installation, which included painting the units in the colour of our choice. His work was extremely precise and the end finish was flawless and beautiful. Finally, it is worth adding that he was absolutely scrupulous in leaving the work area clean and tidy which we hugely appreciated. Very highly recommended!

Carl came up with a great design for a desk, cupboards and shelving and then did a superb job building it. Great craftsmanship, really considerate and clean when fitting it all in. Highly recommend and I will be using him again!

I found Modern Interiors via a Google search for local bespoke carpentry and contacted Carl for a quote for a built in bookcase wall. After a consultation where we discussed all the details of what we wanted, Carl provided a design that we really liked. The build went smoothly with minimal noise and disruption because all the compartments were pre-built in Carl’s workshop. I’m so impressed with the craftsmanship of the finished piece, it’s perfect! I highly recommend Carl of Modern Interiors, he is a skilled designer and craftsman and a lovely guy as well. This is very fine carpentry.

Had a built in wardrobe fitted, Carl was extremely professional in his approach. Gave us ideas on how what would fit in the space, did a design and gave us confidence from the outset. The end result was more than we imagined. I would highly recommend Carl if you’re looking to get bespoke furniture built.

This was a completely delightful experience. Carl developed an excellent design which fulfilled what I needed for many many books. He works incredibly hard to make sure the design is exactly right, paying close attention to detail, and he certainly succeeded!

Carl recently made a bespoke kitchen with large pantry, built in spice rack, large pan drawers, fitted the integral dishwasher, fabulous integral bin cupboard with storage drawer for bags above, all hand made. The large cutlery drawer insert was made to fit perfectly. Oak shelving beautifully finished. Pan rail fitted onto the quartz backsplash. Carl arranged the templating and installation of the quartz worktop. Hand built the French door fridge housing. Carl took care of ordering the necessary magic corner and waste bin fitments. All cupboards and drawers fitted with soft close mechanism. The entire kitchen was hand painted in his workshop before installation. Chrome cup handles and knobs were fitted and he placed invisible protection stickers where needed. Liaised with the plumber regarding sink and tap installation. Everything went to plan and was completed on time. I have the most amazing kitchen thanks to Carl and his expertise as a carpenter.Can’t recommend Carl highly enough. He has now completed two projects; utility room and airing cupboard. He is a pleasure to have around. Good attention to detail and couldn’t be happier with the quality of his work.

Carl is a true professional. We initially asked him to build new bedroom furniture and were really impressed by the quality of his carpentry expertise.Subsequently, we were close to engage a high end, major kitchen manufacturer and asked Carl to quote. Not only was he more competitive, but his designs were so much better than the other plan. Again the build quality was fantastic and the install was very efficient.You can tell he takes such a pride in his work and this will be reflected for many years with such high quality results. A real pleasure to have onsite too!

Carl has designed and built fitted bookshelves, cabinets and wardrobe for me. I’m very happy with them all. His craftsmanship is second to none. He’s fun to have around: he has strong opinions about the aesthetics of his work, argues his points doggedly and is, infuriatingly, pretty well always right. Black coffee preferred.
