Bear Steps Art Gallery and Medieval Hall

Amazing building in a fascinating neighbourhood. Really enjoyed the exhibitions and the chance to meet the creators. Loved this piece

A well preserved 15th century timbered hall in a pleasant leafy square. The ceiling has some impressive wooden beams and there's a gallery at one end but there's nothing else to see relating to the hall's history. On the day I visited there was an exhibition of work by the Shrewsbury Lacemakers which was well worth seeing. Some lovely fans, cushions, pictures and other lacework on display. The ladies were very friendly and keen to show me their work. An artist was giving a demonstration and visitors were welcome to have a go at lacemaking themselves. There's also a little shop selling crafts and gifts. The Bear Steps are a quaint and interesting stairway from the square as they pass right underneath the upper storey of the hall.

This is a friendly little gallery in an old building which is free to enter. You don't get too much of a sense of the old part of the building as it has been specially re-purposed.

Beautiful gallery with some quirky and innovative artwork. A joy.

Actually they had a very readable not-too-long exhibition about Darwin which was very good.

Purchased a picture in March 2018 finally got my picture in August 2018. Said lost my details. No help off company Emailed countless times. Finally sorted 5 months later.

Delightful little art gallery. Free entry. Sadly not wheel chair accessable. Great place to visit.

A wonderful place to visit,remarkably preserved,well done to everybody involved.

Went to see the cartoon festival. Wonderful location.
