Äußerst freundliche Gastgeber. Gegenüber des Baches befindet sich ein kleiner Tante Emma Laden. Gegenüber der Straße das Bridgend Hotel und die Bushaltestelle. Eine Hausbrauerei und ein öffentlicher Garten sind zu Fuß in 5 Minuten erreichbar. Relativ zentrale Lage für Islay.

We had a lovely stay at the Coachman’s Flat in mid-October. The complete apartment with balcony overlooking the river was an extraordinary value. The place had everything one could need plus a beautiful view of the river and small waterfall. The scenery is gorgeous with a view of the stone bridge. Opening the sliding doors was a sensory delight with a swoosh of fresh air filled with river and forest smells. You could also hear the gentle roar of the water. The beds were comfy. Electric shower was a bit tricky but we figured it out the 2nd night. Set it to “Eco” mode for a nice warm shower. The location is great. You can walk to the Bridgend hotel for outstanding dinner and drinks. We became regulars during our stay. The staff at Brigend are absolutely lovely! It’s also easy to get to all other parts of the island as you are pretty much right in the center of Islay.

Excellent central location for visiting the Islay distilleries and places of interest. Bridgend is a tiny, quiet community but near enough to Bowmore. There is a store just around the corner from the flat for snacks, beverages, etc. Katherine is a kind host. Relaxing on the balcony (after a grueling" day of scotch distillery tours) is quite enjoyable. I rented a bicycle for the week and did not need a car."

If you have a car, Sornbank is centrally located from all the distilleries on the island. The drawback is not having the luxury of drinking at night and walking back to your hotel, as you would have if you stayed in one of the cities with bars and hotels.We had a room with a queen bed and another with two twin beds. The rooms were clean, simple, and a good size. The room with the twin bed must have been the master bedroom at one point: it's large, outfitted with a big screen TV, and has a gigantic bathroom.Breakfast was simple, but had a good spread.Payment is by cash only. The closest ATM is in the store behind the building, but it didn't take US debit cards.

We had a brilliant stay at Dahlia Cottage next door to the Sornbank B&B. The cottage itself was beautiful, it was in a great location with access to the distilleries and Bowmore and Katherine was a fantastic host, very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend.
