Cardross Estate

Love this place, been lucky enough to have gone a few times and always had a good time!

Attended Doune the Rabbit Hole music festival this year (2019) in the grounds of this amazing house. It was a great weekend. Great bands, friendly staff and excellent setting. I recommend this festival highly

Beautiful ground and amazing property

Clean, accomodating and lovely stay on the Cardross Estate

Sir Archie and Lady Nicola Orr-Ewing and their son Alastair were the perfect hosts along with their 4 very friendly and well-behaved dogs. Cardross House dates back to the 1500s in parts and is a step into a very different way of life to what most of us have today. It is everything that you would expect from a house and family who look after a considerable estate. We had dinner with the Orr-Ewings and Nicola is a highly accomplished cook. Archie is a most interesting gentleman to converse with and Alastair is combining a busy business career with assisting his parents with the management of the estate and caring for the paying guests. Do not go with expectations of a 5-star country house hotel. This is instead a home with its own very considerable charms. Our holiday was enriched by our 1-night stay here. As we left the area, we visited the beautiful Lake of Menteith.
