Times need updating! Arrived at 0645 as per times online and the store was shut

Pretty standard affair for Greggs. Varied menu with meal deals and both hot & cold options. Great value for money also.

Unfortunate experience of being served by the guy with the Scottish or Irish accent. Can't quite make it out as he speaks so slowly it's difficult to understand what he is even saying. Basically the man needs sacking. I've never seen someone move so slowly, especially when the queue is to the door. Takes 6 attempts to butter a bloody baguette. Repeats your order back or doesnt listen at all as his head is in dream land. To top it off he got brown sauce all over my cup lid, when I asked for a replacement he couldn't understand how this happened. I had to explain to him very slowly that he had brown sauce all over his hands and that was probably the reason for the sauce on the lid, to what he still couldn't understand. Get more staff in Greg's and honesty who is interviewing these people. Joke.

Very disappointed, very poor customer service; I queued for 15 minutes for a bacon roll, but when I finally reached the counter was told they had no rolls. No alternative was offered or further explanation. The queue should have been told of this lack, I would not have wasted my time. And no, they hadn't just sold the last one.

Terrible experience. I’ve given 2 stars instead of 1 because it’s usually ok. First of all I only visited the place to use the toilet, but out of politeness thought I’d buy something too. I was hoodwinked by an advert for a £2.60 breakfast deal, but i didn’t read the small print and was charged £3.70. This is a classic bait & switch. I changed my order and the staff member wasn’t happy. I told him the menu isn’t clear and he argued that it was. I had to show him how there was literally no mention of this deal & price on the menu anywhere! So I got my meal and then realised the toilets were closed (“cleaning in progress” and locked - we all know that this is just a stunt to stop people using the toilet. It was locked and there would be nobody inside doing “cleaning”.) Dont forget that the toilet was the *only reason I came here!* Disappointed, I sat down to eat my meal. The bacon was overdone, tasteless, chewy & dry, and almost non existent and there was the tiniest drop of sauce on it. As least the coffee was drinkable. I doubt I’ll ever come here again, if I need the toilet I’ll go to Morrisons.

Pretty much the same as any other Gregg's. The vegan sausage rolls are usually cold.

I’m not a local and felt very unwelcome. My visit to York was amazing but this one lady “Den” has left a negative imprint. She was so kind to everyone else but not to me. To begin with I was ignored trying to place my order, she went and served someone else who was after me, I asked for some ketchup and she leant over squirted so much it was dripping everywhere, then looked a nasty smile and said “is that enough” I asked for napkins and she just pointed at them with a glare. Not professional and very prejudiced. Shame on you Den I won’t be back

This place is seriously filthy. The bin is over flowing with rubbish, the floor and tables covered in pastry crumbs. Staff stood idle and not even looking at cleaning the mess. I’ve never seen a good outlet in such bad shape with regards to cleanliness.
