The Co-operative Food

I think that if a place offered a services they need competence, whether it is important or not, otherwise limited to just being a food supermarket. Thanks for stealing 2.50 pound a red flag on this place.

The shop is mostly good but, unfortunately, i was really disappointed with something I saw this eve. I really rarely bother to review places, but felt compelled to. An older lady walked to the checkout with a bottle of drink. She greeted the youngish man, who said nothing. She started a conversation with him, talking about some really deep stuff, clearly lonely. Only to be met with a completely blank, emotionless response. She didn't realise there was anyone else in the queue, when she turned around and saw me she apologised to the guy on the till for holding up his next customer. Clearly a really sweet lady who was hoping to engage in some kind of conversation while she's at the shop. She was regularly mentioning how she had no family etc. It was sad to see, to be honest. As she left she spoke to me and I made an effort to comment on how it's a really weird time at the moment and it's good to have a chat. There must be many people that pass through this guy's till each time he's working, and if they're rushing through I imagine they'll be disappointed with the bluntness but not affected by it. For this lady I imagine it would have made her day, and on a quiet Sunday evening, personally, I could have waited for 2 mins to see her happy. Shops like this need a 'people person' behind the till and people like this processing stuff out back. No offence.

Beware if your Male, and use this shop, there is a member of staff there who is very rude to adult men, I would say her attitude to men is hateful and, rude, and she will take any opportunity to Insult you in front of other customers . I have been a victim of her misandry, and witnessed it against other men while waiting in the queue.

Such a great modern and clean Co-op. Great selection of foods and household bits. Staff great. My preferred local shop in the area.

The worst self service tills ever. Very slow connection and very long winded process to use.

Good bargains

Hi folks, just to say, this Coop is just great, the staff are friendly and helpful. For me it has the adid advantage of having a post office and a cashpoint machine and it's not far from my home, so I walk there and back, on the way back its up hill, so I get a fare workout, not that that has anything to do with the shop, but for me, it's all part of the whole experience, thanx for reading my review :)
