Ellie Shopova-Smith Design & Calligraphy

I’m just a beginner in calligraphy and really enjoyed Ellie’s workshop. Everything we needed was supplied and I felt very comfortable working through the beginner sheets. It was a very relaxed, friendly session and I learned such a lot! I am now practicing and have written inside some blank greeting cards (which I think look really good!) I’m definitely hooked; thank you Ellie!

I really enjoyed this workshop. It inspired me to continue my calligraphy journey, I would highly recommend this class if you are looking for that place to start learning the basics, Ellie made it easy to learn and therefore be able to continue myself at home.

Ellie Shopova-Smith Christmas Calligraphy Workshop, November 2023. I really enjoyed this workshop and learning how to use gold ink - quite different to regular black ink. Ellie had put together a beautiful box to take home, comprising gold and white inks, white pencil and gift tags, card & envelope all carefully wrapped with gold string with my name scripted on a tag and a gold seal. She also provided a lot of templates and flourish ideas to help the process of creating gift tags, Christmas cards & writing addresses on envelopes. The attention to detail and Ellie's lovely style of teaching you how to use the ink and ideas for what to do was fantastic. It was a heavenly way to spend an afternoon and I came home itching to create more. Highly recommend Ellie's calligraphy workshops to anyone who is interested in learning this beautiful craft.

The venue was great, the group was great. Ellie has prepared a pack for each of us and had hand written a place card and note inside the box containing the pack which made me feel very special. The course was just the right level for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the day.
