I really liked this bookshop. It's cosy, even intimate feeling, with a very select, carefully curated collection of books. I loved what I discovered in sections as varied as poetry and Sci-Fi and fiction. There is good representation of authors from diverse backgrounds, making the collection eclectic and interesting. I also loved the emphasis on the physical beauty of print and books. With typewritten, thoughtful reviews sprinkled around the shelves, editions with gorgeous covers, a living collection of locally printed 'zines, antique typewriters everywhere. Even the special, surprise gifts we received after we bought our books! The team at this shop celebrate the joy of small, beautiful, tactile things, and I was happy to join in the fun!

Typewronger Books bookshop is a realy nice, fine and authentic shop. After buying a few books we got a tiny little marvellous Origami elephant as a present. That was realy kind and made our day.

Type Wronger is the only Type writer mechanic in Scotland. Had such a delightful time visiting this shop.Vintage style type writer exhibited for visitors, we can type favourite quotes in it.A tiny shop in the alley of Edinburgh but carefully curated shelves which I found a couple of gems in. The owner even found me a signed copy of one of the books I bought.Lovely to have an independent bookshop in Leith walk, please drop by and support them. Also, there's a spooky basement of books...!

Very cool place, loved the play on words, as they sell a few old school typewriters. Seemed like a bookshop that people came to hang out and enjoy the love of reading and learning, not just read books. The person at the counter was very friendly, they saw a kid looking at a typewriter and asked if he wanted to try. The kid loved it and the whole store stopped to come watch. Afew had a try. I could see this place becoming someone's local. Great variety of books too, of all genres, some well known, some new ones you would see at regular stores but also plenty that you might not.Love that it is open until 9pm as well.

I loved how this store had soooo many signed copies of books. It’s in the lower floor of a building and shares space with another book store that focuses on antiquities and older books. The store has such a quirky vibe with typewriters all over the place. I’ve heard you can request to type with one, but I wasn’t there long enough to inquire. I will say that if you’re into books - and you’re in Edinburgh- this better be on your list of favorite spots!

We accidentally stumbled upon this little independent bookshop and I must say it’s one of the highlights of the trip! All of the books were particularly curated and chosen by the owner, who’s extremely knowledgable and affable. When my friend asked for some suggestion he recommended so many interesting reads. With every purchase you also get a little origami which I absolutely adore. There’s a wide range of books here in terms of time period, genres, and diverse content, so drop by if you have the time!

What a gem! A stone’s throw from Edinburgh train station. Some beautiful, old typewriters, one of which you can play on. A beautifully curated book collection and fantastic zine range. A small haven of creativity. Ask for a recommendation….

This bookstore is a true gem! It’s filled with all sorts of genres and decorated with beautiful typewriters. The owner also gave me a personalized recommendation for how to spend a magical day in Edinburgh. I am grateful that I stumbled upon this shop and will be recommending it to my friends.

You know when you go into a bookshop and it just feels lovely from the start? That’s Typewronger. Go find titles and publishers that the algorithms will never put in front of you, and do chat to the bookseller for recommendations. Buy something new and unexpected and come away with an origami animal as a bonus.(Pity about lack of disability access: down some stairs in an old building so not much can be done, but wouldn’t stop conversations and remote orders)
