We had a lovely dinner there. I'd recommend their biltong, it was very flavoursome and a great portion, and the oxtail which was super juicy and came with a splendid side of rice and what I believe where collard greens. Really delicious.The owners came to chat with us and ask us how we enjoyed the meal, which was very very sweet. Would definitely recommend.

absolutely AMAZING!!! yummiest food ever and such lovely service and environment to be in! not to mention the best sweet potato fries we’ve ever had, also a large range of drinks. Can’t fault it! Try something new!

Zak & Nate were first class. We booked with two children aged 5&8. They couldn’t be more accommodating- the menu suited us all. We loved the food, the hosting & the atmosphere and will definitely be going back soon!!Thank you guys ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

24.09.23. What a wonderful surprise to find South African food in York. The interior is rustic and the guys running the place are charming. The food is authentic and brings back memories when we lived there. The food is freshly prepared and prices for drinks are very reasonable. Take a chance and go there

The four of us had a lovely time at Karoo last night. We were warmly welcomed, and left with our stomachs full. The owner went above and beyond to rectify a small issue, we couldn’t have left any happier. 10/10.

My mum and I stopped in last night and had an amazing experience. The staff are super friendly and chatty but not overbearing, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The food was an incredible experience and a good price for it too. The portion sizing is generous, you won't leave there still hungry. I will definitely go back again

Their service is just brilliant. They are polite and always caring about our thoughts on the food. The food wasn't bad, but it was a bit overrated. I tried oxtail, it was tender and juicy, but it needs more favor as it cost £18. We also ordered babyback ribs, unfortunately I would say it quite disappointed. The fries and fried onions are not crispy and warm.It's worth to try again if they make some improvements on their food(crossfinger).

Really enjoyed our visit, very relaxed atmosphere and fantastic food to go with it. Reasonably priced, and very friendly staff, would highly recommend!
