South Shields Surf School

Fantastic. This was the first time my son had ever tried surfing and this pic was after being in the water for half an hour. Lovely staff who were all really friendly and encouraging. He can't wait to come back. Well worth it!

Loved it, the staff were also really helpful when we got stung by jelly fish- we will hire boots next time to prevent stings!

This fantastic little gem of a surf school proves that you do not need to travel the earth for the pure fun which surfing provides.Yes it’s the North Sea and it’s potentially cold but that is in juxtaposition to the warmth that Nick and his team bring to surf tuition. They love the sport and that filters into the lessons and into how keen they are to help you progress in a sport which can be as tricky as it is rewarding.BravoBravo!!

I recently had a private 1-1 surf session, working on positioning and catching more waves. Amazing! I gained more in this one hour than the countless spent on YouTube. Nick is a lovely guy, very comfortable to be around in the water with and had me catching more waves from making just a few tweaks.South Shields Surf are also doing great things with their community projects.

Had the best surf lesson I've ever had today with Nick. My friend Stuart and I are intermediates looking to get rid of bad habits. Nick was a delight from start to finish, super knowledgeable and I swear my surfing has improved 20% in one session.

My disabled son has just done the surfing and I have to say it was absolutely brilliant. The two instructor's were amazing with him. I can't believe how much he enjoyed the experience. As his dad it was great to see and these guy's need some serious funding because they really do deserve it. A huge thank you.

Lovely instructors with lots of great equipment to hire. Everything you could need to start learning or hire to use. I've been doing Q Surf with Dan and it's honestly so much fun, really wish I did it sooner! Book a lesson you really won't regret it

I recently was at the school for a beginner SUP lesson along with a few other ladies from a group called The Wild Wanderers, something I've wanted to try for a while. Our instructor was called Nick, what an absolute treat he was to have! I started to feel as if I had made a bad decision as we walked towards the water, Nick had us do a few warm up exercises and showed us how to use our boards correctly. It really helped to loosen my fears and I ended up not having a care in the world once I was on the board in the water, falling in numerous times included. I really appreciated the one to one time Nick gave us all individually to boost our confidence and help us push through with trying to stay standing on the boards and for me, keeping my eyes on the horizon! We absolutely loved our session, thoroughly enjoyed the conversation and positive atmosphere. I can't wait to come back and hire the boards out, I'm hoping to be able to stand for more than 10 seconds, less waves next time for sure!

Haven't been yet, but got leaflet. Heard from others a great experience. Equipment in with cost and a small changing area.
