Booked a table online for 3 people on 14th Jan. Staff called me 40 mins before the booking to tell me the whole restaurant was full for a private party despite their booking system accepting the requested time. Some of my party were already on their way to the restaurant.The manager was rude, stating it wasn't his fault (I don't know whose fault he thinks it is then) because he'd only just checked the online bookings. The only suggestion he could make was to sit us in the TV room!! I won't ever try this place again. They clearly have no respect for their customers as can be seen from other people who have been let down last minute.

Great pub with friendly and efficient landlady. A pity there weren't more customers but this was a Thursday lunchtime and the pub is not exactly obvious for passing trade. Good value and well presented food though so we will definitely be back.

To the negative review about children, I appreciate your entitlement to review a public house, however please appreciate what you write can be hurtful and undermining. The children you talk about were in there as they have not seen each other in a while and because some of them are disabled, and rarely get the opportunity (I also did not know that 9-10 was a mandatory time to remove children on a Friday night) and the pub you so sadly review very negatively, is a place they are welcome, by the considerate landlord who welcomes all.I do apologise if the happy noises made by children offended you, but rest assured I will make sure I do NOT tell them to stop. The Red hart is a wholesome country pub, but please make sure whenever you frequent other local pubs in the future check before you attend to make sure that they do not have happy children in there as I would not want you to have a terrible time.

The whole place had a really bad vibe, smelt awful, and had a bunch of kids (under 12yo) still in there on a Friday night at 9-10pm. Really odd place that is missing all of the typical country charm and welcoming atmosphere of the other pubs in the local area. Wouldn't recommend going here, and picking one of the others nearby instead. Not worth the trip, and wouldn't even consider going back.

Just had a lovely Sunday roast at the red heart. This is the fourth time we visited this pretty pub and each time we’ve had excellent service and freshly cooked food would definitely recommend it
