Hertz - Manchester Airport

Be warned. Agreed with prior reviews. Pick up from airport is horrible. They have 11 passengers bus, and full nearly every time, so you wait for nearly one hour to be picked up in rainy, cold weather under a canopy. Then you get there and your car is not ready, another 20 minutes ride. Better off to rent a taxi next time. Ouch and more ouch.Rental return was easy.Bus back to terminal is another horrible story, every 20 minutes, so add another hour to your plan to get to terminal 2. More ouch.

Do not hire from this location. It is not an airport collection location. It will take you an extra hour to get to the hertz location after waiting for their shuttle bus. They will then try to force you into hiring an electric vehicle regardless of your booking. Use any other car hire company in the vicinity.

Firstly this is NOT AN AIRPORT RENTAL. There is a great car rental village. But when you get there Hertz has moved. Apparently it is cheaper to locate at a very remote Marriot Hotel which takes a good 20 minutes in a very infrequent bus. I called Hertz head office as after an hour of going to wrong place then waiting for bus still not there. The woman on the phone told me no record of my booking and to sort myself out as i’d booked through a broker. Staff at the agency nice but stuck in a windowless room at the back of the hotel. The first car they offered hadn’t even been cleaned. I have only given 1 star aszero was not an option. After a 3 am start to my day, this meant missing an hour with my 11 yr old granny in way to best friend’s funeral. Not happy. Appalling service from HERTZ

Had a great experience renting a Polestar 2 for a few days! Mark was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to provide us with the best customer service!The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the location is remote and unpractical to reach. You either have to wait forever for a free shuttle to the hotel where the rental agency is located (with timetables not provided by the Hertz) or spend extra money on a taxi...

Good, basically new car at a very attractive rate. No upsell or downgrade attempts were made. Minor annoyances were non-matching milage and battery levels at pick-up and no staff at the car park that would check the car at return. I didn't end up having any trouble despite not taking the full insurance.The provided shell key fob for recharging was rather helpful as it seamlessly worked at those chargers who didn't accept credit cards.All in all I'd happily rent a car at this branch again.

I rented a Mercedes for a couple of days and it was the best experience from start to end. Exceptional customer service. Was given a very nice car which I loved. I would highly recommend all my friends and family to rent from here.

Did not have the vehicle I booked and paid for. The staff were in the process of arranging a suitable alternative when the manager 'Mike' arrived and offered an EV with only 49% charge or nothing. Having travelled for 10 hours already with my wife, 2 infants and with 150 miles to go to our destination I declined. Mike then took great pleasure in printing the ticket in order to tear it up in front of us. I've never had the displeasure of meeting such a unprofessional and uncompassionate person. Certainly not what I would expect from Hertz.

Hertz Manchester airport It was one of the worst experiences I have had renting a car,First of all we had to wait more than 30 minutes for the bus to take us to the hotel where they are located. then basically according to them I did not pass the identity test.., I showed my passport, my British driving license and my credit cards, so I don't know if it is for this meaningless reason that they didn't want to rent me the car and I was there for almost 2 hours, I was with my client whom we took to the factory in England and with this we lost a meeting important and perhaps a business which costs us thousands and thousands of pounds.Finally one of his colleagues took pity on me and rented me the car, this doesn't make any sense.He gave me the car and he didn't explain anything to me about how it worked, since the car was electric.Tryng to charge the car I spent 2 hours looking for the charging cable since no one told me where it was, I finally found it in the front of the car...The day I returned the car I went to a charge point and (screen) told me that it would take 7 hours to charge 50% of the battery.. so if I sat in the car for 7 hours I would miss my flight and they would probably also charge me for returning the car late. So I went to leave the car at Herzt and explain the situation.They charged me £28 for leaving the car only 50% charged and of course I complained to the manager and after 1 hour waiting they gave me a receipt telling me that they would refund me those £28. then I left.Today I checked my credit card and I still haven't received the refund of the £200 that was withheld from me when I rented the car.This company made me lose a very important business and I am going to and I am going to sue the court for this and also if I do not receive my money immediately on my credit cardPlease avoid headaches, do not contract anything with this company.

Had to track down the reception at the Marriott a little bit (it’s in the leisure centre at the rear), but the staff were great, and while I had to wait for the car of my choice, they went over and above to ensure it was cleaned. Return was effortless and the shuttle back to the airport was on time. Be prepared for a wait for pick up, travel to and from the terminals and the hotel (15-20 minutes depending on location), however you can check the pick up and drop off times on their schedule), and if you manage your time it’s no bother. Overall I was wondering how things would go since Hertz moved from the car rental village, and aside from the very minor change to added time, which is to be expected, my experience was a very positive one. Will use again!

Terribly poor experience. No pick up from the airport, poorly kept and dirty office, car not ready despite having lost 45 minutes and spent 11GBP on a taxi to reach the Hertz office. Staff, instead of showing a minimum of accountability, showed none of it, putting the blame on others. No precise instructions given on where to find the car on a big, gravel car park. Given a Seat instead of Tesla after having received probably a dozen of Hertz emails with instructions on how to use the Tesla.Very poor service standards. Not to be recommended.
