Our Love For Dogs

Amanda has been great with helping me to train my puppy Border Terrier, Thor. Helping with greeting people and dogs has been fantastic still a work in progress but so much better with the tips from Amanda. Walking to heel, never thought that would happen but Thor was doing this after just 1 session. On our last session we walked in the park with Thor mostly off lead again never believed that I would be able to do this. Amanda has given Thor and me the confidence to continue with our training and I know that she is there in the future if I need help. Would throughly recommend especially if you have a puppy, I have had dogs before but learnt so much in the 7 sessions with Amanda.

Claire has been helping us with our new dog since May and we are delighted with his progress. Doug (the pug) was a rescue and 13 months old when we got him. As Claire said the first day she met him…he had very poor impulse control and knew none of the usual commands. He also had no idea how to meet other dogs on walks and would often get so over excited it could be misinterpreted. His big big issue was traffic (due to trauma he’d suffered when with his first owner). Any attempt to walk him from our house on a busy main road would result in total meltdown.Doug is now a different dog. He will sit and wait for food, to have his harness put on and off and loves his lure toys. These can be danced in front of him and he will sit and wait to chase until we tell him he can go. With regard to other dogs, we’ve had some enormous progress. He still doesn’t get it right 100% of the time but we’ve had some brilliant encounters and he can also walk past and ignore other dogs if we ask him.The traffic issue was massive and Claire has helped us to desensitise him and he can now be walked on any road. I will never forget the first day we successfully walked him down our road with Claire walking beside us and giving tips and advice. It was a massive leap forward.Claire’s expert advice and strategies have helped with many other issues as well. We now have a much calmer dog and we’ve been able to take him on camping trips which we could not have considered when we first got him. Thank you Claire we will always be so grateful to you ❤️

We have a now 10 month cockapoo who has so much energy and was / is trying to be the house boss with 2 young kids also we decided to get a puppy trainer. Claire has been amazing, we have not finished our 7 week course yet but have already noticed such a difference. Each week she give us different tasks to work with we have covered, jumping up, tricks - lie down, sit, wait etc. We have done lead walking, steps to take when we have visitors, (we already have comments about how he is better) .. he is not perfect but 100% improvement and I can not wait to see the end goal. She also gives suggestions on good high energy toys and always on the end of the phone.Not only is she helping him but Claire is giving us the tips and confidence to continue the training once the sessions end : ) highly recommend.

We have just completed our training with Claire. Our 2yr old Cavapoo Margot was really anxious around new people and dogs & also very reactive. Training took place in our home & local parks & focused on improving reactivity & building confidence around other dogs & people. Claire checked in with us between sessions & provided lots of additional videos & resources to support our training sessions. With Claire’s support & guidance we have a calmer, more confident dog & we are much more confident owners too. Thank you Claire

I have just completed our behavioural training sessions with Amanda for our reactive Macedonian rescue, Mika & so glad I chose Our Love For Dogs. There is so much conflicting advice when it comes to reactivity I got myself in a real tizz. From the initial video call, Amanda understood what we'd need and put my mind at rest. The initial sessions not only gave our 4 year old dog a new sense of confidence and control but me too.Nothing is too much trouble, we've worked on everything from her diet inc treats, reconnecting with bonding commands, right through to positive reinforcement techniques and correction for incidents of reactivity. We still have work to do with Mika but I can't believe how much she has come on and I'm confident that the techniques we have worked on will continue to help manage her behaviour. Our focus in the later sessions were on building up Mika's confidence when meeting other dogs and what's expected and acceptable when she does. I have been on some fantastic socialisation walks with Amanda and Mika & have met some lovely dogs & people on route too. Nothing but positive vibes from Our Love For Dogs which has definitely fed through to Mika. Thank you so much Amanda. Highly recommended

The impact Claire had was significant, even after the first session. The tailored training, starting at home and progressing to the park, has been great for Griffin.The positive approach has been effective and Griffin really enjoys the sessions. I highly recommend Our Love For Dogs, especially for puppy owners.With Claire’s help, we now understand our pup better and he understands us better too, resulting in a happier and better-behaved pup.

We’re halfway through our 10 week course working with Claire to train our 10 month old Cockapoo, Bluebell and could not recommend her enough.Bluebell is a high energy pup who loves people and to play. We’ve been working with Clare to teach Bluebell to keep calm, learn some puppy manners and to settle/ play independently when we’re working from home and can honestly say she’s come on leaps and bounds. She is an overall much calmer dog who lets us work/ watch tv in the evenings together/takes herself to bed in her crate and has started to walk much better on her lead. She’s more focussed and you can see her listening to our commands and making her decisions.She’ll always be a bouncy, bubbly dog but it’s amazing to see her be more calm, listen to our commands and most importantly have fun and enjoy her training. It’s also been really east to integrate the training into our lives and we’re having great fun too. We can’t wait to see her growth over the next few weeks but are already so impressed! We have been working with Claire to help train our 3.5 year old golden retriever, Rupert.We are about halfway through our training and the difference is AMAZING! He is like a different dog.Before training he was a lovely boy but very excitable; he would always pull on the lead and could not help saying hello to every single dog. He’d also get so excited that he would ignore his recall and other commands, which could have got him into trouble in the long run.He’s now walking to heel (totally magic I never thought he’d be able to do this!) and is a lot calmer and more engaged with us.Can’t wait to finish the training sessions as they have really improved our relationship with Rupert, and wish we had done it sooner!Thank you Claire :)

Toby had had three previous homes and had been extremely reactive. We were really worried we would be able to be the best help to him and we're a bit scared of him at times! Today we completed our journey with Claire. From not being able to leave the house to go to a neighboring road to being able to take him on holiday with us we are grateful to say that we have a much happier dog and feel much more confident owners. Heed Claire's education and input and your dog can have a much less stressful life following trauma or lack of training. Thank you Claire for keeping our dog safe and calmer.
