Really disappointed with options and service for vegans.I visited Crumbs today. So, first, and maybe most importantly, the bread and the food was lovely - sourdough loaf is really really good. However, when I took this to the counter and asked whether they were able to slice the loaf, it was answered with a entirely deadpan, 'no'. And then a stare, that continued uncomfortably (for me).I asked about vegan cakes (only one choice - oat cup) and ordered the vegan hummus sandwich. The same server proceeded to slather on butter. I asked (politely, I felt) if I could have no butter as I am vegan, it was met with a huge eye roll. She found more bread but the sandwich was then made with seemingly little care (and without an ingredient on the list on the menu) and then dropped onto the counter without a word. I felt so awkward I didn't want to ask about the contents any further, so left feeling ashamed for being a vegan :-(

For Cyclists - Good coffee, cakes and savories but there is no good/easy place to lock bikes. Would have been five stars if it had a small triathlon style bike rack/bar.Addendum:My review is not intended to be harsh. I had intended it to be an informational review of the venue from a cyclists perspective and for cyclists. I start the review with the heading “For Cyclist” to indicate this and praised your baking.Unfortunately for a group of cyclist there is an issue of bike parking. We needed to lock our bikes to a street sign on the opposite side of the road. It was only just possible to secure our four bikes to this public road sign. This was not ideal as it partly blocked the pavement and obscured the sign. There is no other place available unless you lock you bike to a fence belonging to one of the private houses – this is not a thing which any cyclist should do and is not acceptable and should not happen.I appreciate that you are a bakery and not a bike shop etc. BUT you are promoting the venue as a cafe and bike/cyclist friendly by an icon/image of a bike on the front window. I agree cyclists themselves are made very welcome by the shop and staff and the cakes, savories and coffees etc are excellent but unfortunately there is no safe/easy place outside to secure and park a bike.If you are a GROUP of cyclists then this does matter and can be a factor in choice of coffee stop and hence my “For Cyclist” headline and review.

Our favourite local bakery. A good selection of cakes and baked goods, with a counter that’s always well stocked. Inside there is a fair amount of seating, though at peak times you may struggle to get a table. In summer, the outdoor area by the side of the bakery is a great little sun trap. They also have items like milk and coffee beans to purchase. More recently, they’ve starting stocking natural dog chews, which are popular with our two.

Visited 9.15am Sunday 27 August 2023. Stood waiting in empty cafe whilst two staff faffed around for several minutes. Then one said,Yes." I finally ordered a bacon roll and a small sausage roll

One of those rarest of bakeries that actually bake their own bread. The soughdough is especially luxurious. Both seeded and wholemeal. The soughdough ferments for 26 hours for a moist yet airy bread. Those in the know invariably preorder their loaf since there's always an enthusiastic queue ... and you really don't want to miss out!

A generous slice of the most moist carrot cake. Hot chocolate was pretty standard, not that it made claims to be exceptional. Friendly staff and of course a good sign that locals were using the place and all on first name terms. The atmosphere was cosy, well lit and subtle music playing. It's a bakery so it was unsurprisingly warm. A good selection of tasty treats. Recommended.

Very popular small Bakery Cafe.I had the best ever Almond croissant and an excellent Americano coffee.I was tempted by the generous portion of Bread Pudding.Prices are not cheap but are good value for the quality.I noticed the huge sack of Shipton Mill flour - an excellent sign that everything is made on site - I think. They have different flours from Shipton Mill and bags of the coffee they use presumably for sale.

Stopped here for some coffee and pastries. Coffee was lovely as were the pastries. While queuing someone had some sandwiches made, and they didn't hold back on the filling! Haven't seen a place be that generous for a while. It was good to see. Oh and also bought a loaf of bread which was also lovely.
