My car broke down and we were pushed my a true samaritan to the carpark of the Abbey pub we asked would it be OK if we could stay in there carpark waiting for the AA the bar maid was lovely and concerned we were ok she was very nice and gave permission we enjoyed a nice drink lovely old style pub excellent hospitality will definitely call and have a meal a s a p

My friend and I managed to get a table for Sunday the day after the King's coronation! I figured it would be fully booked, but it wasn't! Their Sunday Lunch is good!However, they are planning on tweaking their menu, so I would keep an eye on if it changes for the better or Not?!

Booked a table for 7pm on 11th August, turned up and got told by the bar staff that the chef was sick and they weren’t serving food. There was a buffet on and there were additional tables with cutlery which is odd if they’re not serving food.. seemed like they just wanted to get rid of us. Next time, inform the person who booked that you aren’t serving food so you don’t waste their time!

Actually really impressed with the food. Such good value. Well eorth a look if in the woodseats. Nice warm traditional pub nicely decorated for Christmas.

Very nice pb to visit great selection of drinks.The food smelled and looked lovely and a good menu to choose from. The staff were very friendly and definitely will go again

Large pub on a very busy corner. Small bar on one side with Taylor's Landlord on hand pump. Luckily Boothroyd tried the other Lounge door where the big bar and room has 4 real ales. Casta had a Little Critters Raspberry blond; very good. Typical pub food menu. Large car park and a paved patio drinking area and grassy seating. There is also a bowling green to the side of the pub. One TV showing sport in the Lounge.

Allowed us to book a table online. We arrived and the barmaid said she didn’t know which table was ours and said sit anywhere without a reserved sign; which puzzled us since we had reserved!We ordered a drink and chose our food.When we went to the bar we were told there was no food left!!! No apologies given.Heard a fellow customer who had eaten being told they could not order dessert as the oven was broken!!?? Something fishy afoot.We will not be going here again.
