2 disasters arrivals at the hotel, met with with very inexperienced members of staff, when I requested to speak with the hotel manager he/she went on a business call. Left came back at check in time and the staff member on reception asked how he could help me to then ignore me speaking to pick up and answer the reception phone!! Not a 4 star hotel and it was only made bearable with housekeeping staff (Ehster) and an amazing chef (Aaron). Booked the romantic overnight, wasn’t told dinner times let alone asked if I wanted to book, wasn’t told what time breakfast was or what time check out was and none of this information was detailed in the room. Someone also tried to get in our room at 3am Safe to safe I don’t recommend or will be booking again.

Room was comfortable, but phone didn't work and the front desk didn't seem concerned. Great shower. Location is near top of hill so walking up and down to nearby shops was a workout. Overall, it didn't quite meet my expectations.

Booked through 5 pm we also paid extra for dinner and another £20 so we could check in at 1pm we arrived in stirling nice and Early and went to a local bar for lunch, whilst getting about to leave to check in for 1pm, I received an email advising that we could no longer check in at 1pm and also there would be no evening meal available as they don,t do it at this time of year, they offered no refund however would give us £40 credit at the bar, we had booked a king size room which u could not swing a cat in and was so small u could hardly walk round the bed, the dressing table had no mirror, we then went to check out the next day and an inexperienced member of staff attempted to charge us £240 which she had to get a manager to fix in the end we got there.

A fab hotel with character in the heart of Stirling!! A highlight being that it is a very short walk to the castle. My room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. All the staff were lovely and friendly. I’ll be back :)Local tip: if you don’t mind the walk there is affordable weekly parking beside the Vue cinema near Stirling train station.

Stayed here on our recent visit to Stirling. The bed and the pillows aren't the most comfortable and the paint in our room needed some work as there were chips and scuff marks all over, also the extractor in the bathroom did not work so having a shower was more like a sauna but the bathroom itself was stunning. However the staff were absolutely lovely and the service was fantastic, we got chatting with the caretaker Ian on the way in who was so warm and charming, and a fountain of local knowledge and history which was amazing as this was our first time visiting.

Never in all my life had worse experience at a hotel than this. The water was barely hot and a common thing it seems in the reviews here. But when arriving at the hotel there was no mention of there being a huge party but at 8.30pm the music started, so loud I could hear the vibrations through the floor, music so loud I could hear it over my TV. I was in a room at the back of the property where people from the party where making loads of noise. I couldn't call through the reception so I went down and nobody was there but the receptionists cocktail and phone. All she could offer was a smaller room and tell me that the party was due to finish at 11.30pm. Frankly disgusting service, terrible room for what you pay for, spent all their money on bigger baths but not even hot water. If they want to be a club they should turn themselves into a club. Not have people travel and have one of the worst experiences I have ever had staying somewhere. Actually livid.

The bed was extremely hard despite having some kind of soft topper. It was soft in the areas that supported smaller portions of the body, like feet, but my back/torso was killing me after two nights. Sank right down to the hard mattress underneath.I fell on the stairs in the lobby, and they did offer medical attention when the incident happened. I was surprised that no one checked in after that at all, except to confirm that I denied medical attention when we checked out. They obviously cared about nothing other than their liability factor. My Achilles tendon is definitely in some trouble, and I currently have a brace and a limp. Be careful on the lobby stairs as they transition into the landing before those last seven steps.Walls are thin. Someone played music until after 3 am, and we heard it thumping all damn night. While staying there, my husband and I paid the daily parking rate. The front desk told us that after we filled out their paperwork with the car information, we did not need to pay again (15 pounds for two nights seemed reasonable). We verified MULTIPLE TIMES with the front desk that we would not be ticketed or face any fines for only paying one night, and they ASSURED us we were fine. We asked about this specifically because I saw parking fines mentioned in other reviews.DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. We received a 35 pound fine for a parking violation at their hotel, which brings our parking costs to more money than it would have been if they'd been honest and we'd just paid multiple nights on the app in the first place.I would NOT stay here again.

We had a very big room, The location is excellent just down from the Castle and in the centre of town with plenty of restaurants nearby. The bathroom was huge and well appointed. The room didn't have ventilation but must be an Australian thing. The room was stuff even though we opened the windows. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Hotel was clean, area was perfect, but the place was badly understaffed. The 2 guys that were there on the Saturday night were sound, but it was obvious they were under the cosh. Have stayed in hotels for half the price which were better equipped/managed.

A grand facade, welcoming staff and at first sight a good room, so I had high expectations for the overnight stay. But the following morning ....a shower that didn't function properly; temperature control was hot or very hot, leaks..and on checking out other guests also listed issues with their rooms.
