Couldn't be more fortunate than to be at this practice, with its kind and helpful doctors, nurses and staff. They go out of their way to make things as easy as they can and the building is clean and easily accessible.

Staff are professional for the most part and are making the best of a dire situation. My biggest critique is the system for booking appointments. I think it would be more efficient to offer appointments as they become available rather than a daily battle royale between 8 and 9am (took me a month to get a routine appointment even though I was calling 3-4 times per week.) I’m not a practice manager and there might be a good reason why they do it this way, but I don’t see it. I’ve tried signing up to the electronic booking service twice without any success.

I want to give 0 stars but this is not possible if you want to write a review. Dr Cowie is the most condescending, narcissistic, pathetic excuse for a medical professional I have ever had the displeasure of engaging with. If you have a phone appointment with him, he will continuously make snide little jabs at everything you say, often blatantly ignoring what you have just said to him, so that he can make his nasty comment. If you have a physical appointment with him it's even worse. He will tell you to your face he thinks you are lying about your illness. If you tell him you are feeling suicidal, he will laugh in your face and tell you to get a grip. I would rather suffer than have another appointment with him. I will be asking for any other doctor in the future.

Never had a bad appointment/consult with any GP here so far. Both Dr. Fardon and Dr. Bowie are both lovely, very knowledgable, and are very empathic towards their patients. Without Dr. Fardon I wouldn't have gotten the care I needed for a medical issue that other doctors didn't care to examine, and Dr. Bowie is extremely understanding and one of the most non-judgemental doctors I've ever interacted with. Both are an asset to this practice. The only thing I disagree with about this practice is not implementing some sort of phone-queue system, as it's quite difficult to get appointments, especially around the colder seasons. But when you do manage to get through, the interaction is swift and dealt with in a friendly manner.

Dr Zafar is absolutely terrible- do not go to him if you’re having mental health issues. He wrote on my sick note that my uni should stop asking them for sick notes (an irrelevant input that would only hurt my case) and then wouldn’t re-prescribe my second medication (prescribed originally by another doctor). Now I need to ask another doctor to re-do the letter and re-prescribe my meds. If you’re calling for mental health and you get Dr Zafar, you’re better just putting the phone down and ringing again at 8.30 the next morning to get literally anyone else.

Wanted to get something checked up today and had a great experience at the Medical Center. The staff were very friendly in general, and Dr Franks was very helpful and considerate during my consultation.Though I was initially surprised that my consultation was going to be through phone call, I ended up finding the process very helpful. It allowed me to voice my concerns and, when it was identified that an in person consultation would be helpful, it was easy to get a booking for within the next 2h.

All the other reviews about the difficulty in getting an appointment here are spot on. I've sat redialling the phone from 8am on the dot just getting a busy tone, once I had 126 attempts registered on my phone trying to get through to get an appointment at 8am. There's not even a call queuing system so it's just luck of the draw that you call at the right time when the line is not busy. When (if) you do get through you have to say details of your issue to the receptionist, I understand why to triage but I've had them repeat details back to me or ask further questions which could make anyone in the waiting room aware of the issue.Giving two stars because the GP's at this practice are, on the whole, lovely and very helpful. Especially Dr Fardon who actually seems like she cares, is very knowledgeable, and will take the time to go through things with you instead of rushing you out the door. I've always had good experiences with the nurses at this surgery too.So overall, good competent GPs at this surgery let down by the impossible and frustrating appointment booking system.

For me the practice is fantastic, especially Dr Bowie if it wasn't for her I wouldn't have gotten all the help and treatments I've needed. She is a fantastic Doctor. Yes it's hard to get an appointment and they do need a queuing system for phone calls so it makes things easier and have more than 1 person manning the phones first thing. Other than that great

My mother was very Unwell and she could not have got a better service from Hawkhill practice. Both Dr Cowie and Dr Munro phoned her on a regular basis, to check up on her and she got swift appointments when needed. Excellent. My mother has said it’s the kindest, most caring and nicest medical practice.

This is the second practice I've been registered at in Dundee, been going here for ~2 years and I had a good experience. The GP I see is really considerate, and actually cares. Supportive of mental health problems too. I didn't have a bad experience with receptionists.Would be great if they stated when each GP works though.Sure it is not easy to get an appointment, but at least you don't have to go to the practice in person at 8am.
