Dalton Square Practice

Many thanks to the staff and doctors of the practise for the great care they provide for me, every member of staff is polite,helpful and caring.Thanks also to the nurses and students who carried out the flu jabs" at the university drive through even on a windy Sunday morning smiling helpful people

I moved to Lancaster in June. Was told to register with this practice. I completed the registration form and sent it to them.They have still not replied, and I am still not registered with a GP on Lancaster. Phone them up, they say fill in the form, fill in and send them the form and they ignore it.I had to travel 4 hours to my old GP instead.

Surgery has gone down since they merged with other practices. Very difficult to access appointments due to inadequate telephone systems. Extremely rude reception staff. Horrendous experience for us as a family with my son and his health issues. We changed surgery as a result and have had such a better service. The surgery I am now with know what they are talking about and cant do enough to help.

Can't complain about this surgery whatsoever, they have been nothing and kind and very helpful since I lost my partner a few week ago.The poor receptionists are getting nothing but rude remarks from patients, it's hardly their fault for what's been happening since the Covid 19 virus appeared!!

Ideal location in town near town hall. 10 mins from bus station, 5 mins from shops.Limited parking on cobbled street to front, slope up to main entrance with difficult disabled access door while on incline.Three or four chemist close by in town . Surgery is on multiple levels with no lift. If you struggle with stairs make sure you let the receptionist know.There are on,y two practices that server Lancaster that being this one ( which has multiple sites Owen rd, rose bank, meadowside, gallate and university) and the alternate is queen square.

I was concerned when moving to this practice because of the reviews but I've nothing but great things to say since being a patient with Dalton Square. In particular the MHP J. blezard has been an amazing help, I can't thank you all enough for all the support and hard work you do.

I've been shielding since March 17th - & have had to phone the surgery a couple of times to sort out blood tests etc and every time I have been treated with such kindness & empathy by the Reception staff. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank them, especially the woman I spoke to yesterday- 9th September- sorry I didn't catch your name - you really helped and reassured me.

Absolutely ridiculous.Can't get through on phones to make an appointment. (being trying for 45 mins now, as I am writing this review)patient access isn't working to make appointment.Was a fantastic surgery until the 'merger'.Our whole family has been a patient here, me, my mother, her mother.My mum booked a diabetic foot examination, they forgot to mention it was at the GALGATE med centre. Now my mum is in her 80's and doesn't drive, how is she supposed to get there. Never mind the fact she wasn't told it would not be at Dalton square Surgery.

Very poor access to appointments just been on hold for 15 mins to be told there are no appointments so if my symptoms worsen call back as an emergency. This is not my only reason for the 1 start but my most recent. I have been at this practice all my life but will be changing ASAP as this will be quicker than booking in here!

I am so sad to be giving this 1 star review as previous to the merge, I was 100% happy with the service.After the merge, getting an appointment is nearly impossible. They are supposed to be booked through the app but there are never any appointments available. Getting through a receptionist on the phone is a mammoth task with long waits.Appointments are given for in nearly two months time and randomly all over Lancaster, Skerton, or even near Morecambe, if you need to see a doctor sooner than 2 months you have to try for a same day appointment. Ringing frantically at 8am on the dot. It's easier to win the lottery...THE DOCTORS ARE ALL VERY GOOD. It's such a shame all the rest is not.Why change something that used to be so good to turn it into a mess. So sadly disappointed. I wish this merge never happened.
