Tesco Esso Express

The Evri returns machine never works, it’s always “out of order”, or “out of paper”, or the device to scan the parcel they have is “broken”.Happened enough times to believe that they just don’t want to take parcels in.

This Tesco Express is a bit of a victim of its own success. At a great location, with excellent stock keeping (never seem to run out of anything) and a fantastic variety of goods, then it seems half of Roffey wants to come here sometimes. The queue of cars onto the main road waiting to enter the site can often cause snarl-ups at the roundabout at peak hours. The queue inside can snake along the whole length of the booze aisle many days. Getting rid of the car wash to provide more parking was a good idea (before you would often have to wait for a parking space too), but in all honesty the store's popularity has outstripped the capacity of the site.What the manager needs to appreciate though is that having only two people on the till means a queue of customers forms in the store and then their cars block the pumps and parking spaces. The bell the till staff use to call more staff to the front desk seems to be out of earshot of the back office too - often the desperate ringing of the bell results in nothing more than looks of exasperation on the faces of the staff and the customers in the queue.Advice - if you are an anti-queue person, come here at 10pm or use the Co-op up the road.

Update when you are having maintenance so people don't turn up at 1am and have no clue its closed.

I am so annoyed with the staff in Horsham Store. I do my weekly shop there and normally its okay. However.for the last couple of weeks following my food shopping I have stood in line for the cigarette kiosk. Last week I was told to move along as both tills were available to purchase things; today after standing a long queue and waiting for people to pay for their shopping, which they had in baskets (told previously could not pay for shopping here) I moved along the queue - whilst someone was being served another person bypassed the long queue; when I asked for my purchase the female behind the counter, said, 'I'm serving her first' - when pointed out that I had waited in the queue she retorted, 'I am customer service. I then responded that last week I had been informed that it was one queue and to move along - I was told, only if I don't have a customer - they want to make their minds up about their policies - one lost customer.

Toilet for costumers has been broken for last 2 months every time I was there (at least 2 times a week)

If wanting fuel don't get there before 7 as tanker is on forecourt, if wanting fuel after 7 be prepared to wait up to 20 mins as extremely busy and some people fill up and then do a shop while leaving car at pump... I don't have a choice as firm only use ESSO and this is the only one in a 15 mile radius....

Handy for fuel and quick shopping essentials rather than going to the major supermarkets. The refit helped with parking somewhat but they didn't take the opportunity to solve the issue of cars getting from parking through the often conjested refueling area. The two should have been separate facilities. If you refuel often you get caught in a long queue of shoppers. One till in busy periods should be fuel only to prevent queues of cars on the road. Its still a great store. Just needs some rethinking and care when busy.

Not 24/7 as sigh posted what a disappointment and security guard is a rude and horrible man shouldn't be there.

I avoid it at all costs, there tends to always be a queue for the pumps as the lay out is rubbish.Shop is expensive but has everything and handy for a meal deal or odd bits. No ATM.Small frozen section, small car park, some flowers.. exactly what you'd expect.
