We were in the area and decided to visit as it was somewhere we'd always wanted to go to. It was mid November and the Christmas theme was in place. The Christmas Market with lots of stalls was set up outside the house. The stable shops all had a festive element too. After the market we took a long walk around the grounds. Even in November there was plenty to see, cascades, sculptures, maze, lakes, fountains, rock features, etc. In order to enter the house we had to pre-book a time slot. Our trip around the house was more focused on the festive themed rooms, rather than the house itself. Maybe we need to visit again in the summer. Once the house tour was over it was back into the gardens to follow the Christmas lights trail, some of it accompanied by music. The light display on the house at the end of the walk was stunning. Absolutely fantastic end to the day. The whole experience was fantastic. Staff (some in period costume) very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely superb full day. Myself and brother and SIL arrived at 10:30 and didn't stop until we left at 17:30. Although the house was fully dressed for Christmas you could still see the full history of the house which was a factor we very much appreciated. Finding all of the numbers for the advent calender is a clever idea as it makes you look at everything in the room and not just the decorations. The Guides are so welcoming and more than happy to enthusiastically answer any questions you may have and are very knowledgeable about the history of the house, Disney staff can take tips from these guys.We then walked up to the Hunting Lodge which is a hike and a half and not for the physically challenged. The view of the house and the cascade from up there and the waterfall are stunning and worth the walk. The light trail is a nice walk, but if you've done enough walking for the day, skip the trail and walk along to the front of the house for the stunning show. For the price of £34 adult ticket, a full day at Chatsworth is very good value for money if you partake of everything on offer.A brilliant day

Possibly one of the most well executed stately homes in the country and going to see it all lit up for Christmas was just magical. The gardens were amazing and home was beautiful. The only issue was the amount of people stopping to take photos everywhere, but how could you not!

Always a lovely visit. The Christmas decor was stunning. Lovely lights in the garden . Carriage house cafe always nice. Only downside in the cafe is paying for the hot food whilst waiting for everyone ordering hot drinks . Can be a while. Food nice but much nicer hot.

Yet another good day at Chatsworth. Visited twice now and I’ve really enjoyed it both times! Loved the theme of advent in the house this year and particularly enjoyed the elf. The Christmas market was amazing, lots of really nice things for sale, lots of stalls with amazing Christmas gift ideas.Be mindful of the weather as the walk from the car park to the house is particularly muddy despite the walkway. Beautiful setting for a walk with or without the dogs. Amazing to see so many deer!

It was fantastic. Very well organised despite being extremely busy. Even with the wet weather we have experienced of late, they kept us out of the wet.The house was beautiful, garden light display exceptional. The market was a nice visit. If doing the lights, the darker the better.Enjoy!

Initially seemed expensive when we booked but after spending nearly 7 hours there it was well worth the money. Instantly impressive when you drive towards Chatsworth. The grounds are vast and beautiful. The guides at the start of the house tour are welcoming and knowledgeable. The house is incredible. Plenty of places to get refreshments. Take time to enjoy the different areas of the gardens. Loved it.

Our visit was for the advent Christmas event. The tickets were considerably more than last year and in house displays were lovely, but not as good as previous years. However the outdoor lights and advent projection were spectacular. My advice, skip the house and go straight to garden only tickets.I love Chatsworth and live quite near, but they are in danger of pricing people out, especially if the experience they offer continues to decline.

Wonderful display in the house on an Advent theme. There was also a Christmas Market in the grounds with various stalls and entertainment in the form of a band. Parking was very well organised with boards down as the weather had been very wet. A great day out for all the family. The only downside for me was the cost of food and drink. Even take-out food was expensive.
