Danesfield House Hotel & Spa

Spa and restaurant booking for birthday occasion. I was underwhelmed to find the spa is completely detached from the main building. Had I not had a restaurant reservation I would not have had any access to Danesfield house main building.Spa and treatment I couldn’t fault. Clean in all areas, scenic views and facial was 10/10.The Orangery restaurant for cream tea is a beautiful setting with a view. Has a very high end feel but disappointed that our order was taken wrong and waiter service not very attentive.Main building - I had seen online there were walking routes around the ground but no information about this could be found on arrival.

Great location, very good service, nice room but the ensuite was small. You had step around the toilet when getting out of the bath. Having said that each room is unique.The breakfasts were superb and the spa facilities were also good. The pool was a good size

Wonderful historic property set in a beautiful setting overlooking the Thames.Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Spa was more than adequate but like the room a tad tired. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. Overall a charming experience. It was given as a gift so I'm sure we got the 'package' service. Even so I would be glad to have paid the price as a special treat.

Firstly I would just like to say that all the staff were amazing. Everyone from the groundskeeper to the manager were nothing but lovely and helpful. A special thanks to the young lady on the breakfast and lunch shift with blonde hair who was especially helpful with my wife’s dietary requirements.The rooms do need a bit of TLC with some paint chipping off the walls and curtains with marks and rips in. The house is maintained to a very high standard but again could use a little TLC but that’s to be expected from any busy hotel! The grounds are immaculate.When it comes to food the breakfast was fantastic! Hats off to the chef! Lunch was nice as was the evening bar menu. The A La Carte menu however was very disappointing with not much taste at all. But don’t let that dissuade you!There is a Spa on site where again all the staff were so lovely and very helpful. A massive thanks to Loraine for helping us book a pregnancy safe treatment over the phone before arrival.Overall a very nice relaxing experience and we would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay.

Our family had a wonderful time for our dad's 70th Birthday! The house and grounds are magnificent but what really made it special was the service from the staff. From check in to dinner everyone was really keen to make it special. Shout out to Adam who really looked after the young ones even making them paper birds to play with. Can't thank them all enough!The pool was also lovely to go for a swim too. We will be coming back for sure!

It’s a nice house on amazing grounds with superb views. The house itself is a bit old and under going constant maintenance, as expected. Rooms very hot in summer with no air con and a small fan.Breakfast great and daytime staff pretty friendly.The evening meal is awful though. Don’t eat in the restaurant at all. Tepid, tasteless meal at a stupidly high price.Also on our first day of arrival - the staff were no where to be seen and I nearly had to serve my own drink from behind the bar. On the Tuesday evening, 3 couples were in the lounge with no one asking about drinks - while 4 young blokes just laughed and chatted to each other in reception. When I asked how we get a drink - one pointed me to go and walk to the bar.So… hit and miss. Maybe stay a night, but eat in Marlow

Stayed here for 2 nights for my wife's birthday. Excellent room {100 in the old clock tower}. Food outstanding as was the service from all staff. Location great, walk through the gardens to the veiw point where you can enjoy a drink and look out over the Thames. Only critisism is the service charged 12.5/15% added to everything including drinks from the bar.

I was so impressed with Danesfield House, we’ve had the perfect weekend stay there. Ample parking, very warm welcome & shown personally to our room. Incredible balcony with gorgeous view of grounds / river Thames / Chilterns. Delicious three course dinner with excellent service. Breakfast on both days was incredible - you can have as little or as much as you like from both continental & cooked menus. The staff on service were amazing, a real credit to this hotel!We also indulged in afternoon tea which, again, was wonderful. We couldn’t finish it all, so took a box back to our room which we had later that evening. It was my birthday and they did a special plate of truffles for us, what a treat!The spa is great too - very clean and didn’t feel busy at all! We had a couple of relaxing treatments. Everyone was SO lovely, I would highly recommend a weekend here. A big 10/10 from us. Thank you to everyone who took such good care of us!

I just had my birthday celebration at Dansfield House. We have been there for two nights. All staff was very friendly and helpful. The Spa was excellent and I have enjoyed the sauna most. We had meals both days which was so delicious. Thank you again the little gestures I have received from all the departments during our stay to make my birthday unforgettable.

Room lovely and view ,dinner lovely day 1 day 2 couldn't get in main restaurant as for some reason all booked up even though I'd booked months ago ended up back in lounge,not good as celebrating my fiancée birthday, not happy!! spa was lovely
