Petwell House Vets
On 06/09/22 - I accompanied a friend to Petwell House where she left her pet to have a procedure to fix a cherry eye.To our surprise when we when back to collect our little chihuahua the vet told us that he could not finish the procedure as he ran out of time.I just found it the most unacceptable excuse since he was the one who suggested the procedure be performed at the same time as she was spayed. It was a very irresponsible action and is very dishonest for this vet to promise this but not deliver. He put this little pet's life at risk and used it as a guinea pig when he knew he was not capable of doing the procedure. Then he charged us and suggested that we return after 6 months for another procedure which he wanted my friend to pay for again.I am doing this review just to make people aware of what kind of vet this person is.He not only did not apologize but also did not take ownership of this situation. He was irresponsible, arrogant, and unprofessional. Now, this vet says that he told my friend that the cherry eye could come back. The TRUTH is he never took care of this in the first place. She is taking him to court after having to pay for another operation elsewhere. The operation was a success from day one with this new vet who performed a very successful operation that worked perfectly. This situation is very frustrating and painful for our little pet.

Amazing at giving advice on how to cut my bunny nails and sadly my other 2 rabbits died and they gave me cute little bags that carried their ashes and gave me a discount on the next time I go bc of how sad I was.

The most corrupt and ignorant vet clinic in all England. Alongside with this, the owner owns money to his staff members and apparently he wanted to work for free, this information is from his own receptionist good friend of mine who resigned immediately after I advised them to do so. The vets have left too, and all his good and with knowledge staff left. Do not expect to have your pet treated as a family member when their only and actual interest is to have your money.

Incredibly unhelpful in an emergency. I was visiting the area when my dog became ill. I phoned Petwell - well within their opening hours - and was met with a flat “no” when I asked for assistance. Luckily another vet could help, and my dog is now on the mend.

Amazing and very friendly.Edit: 2 of my dogs came here and they both loved it. My last dog named Tommy loved it here so much he didn't want to leave sometimes, as he loved the treats he was regularly given and also one of the staff/vets named Matthew so when my mum had to put my dog down as the cancer he had unfortunately was uncurable anymore my mum had my dog with the staff/vet that he loves as he died/was put to sleep. this was so sad but also happy as my dog spend his last moments with 2 people he liked/loved; the staff/vet and his mother.

I have all my 3 cats registered with this practice for a couple of years now and I was pretty happy in the beginning but now it’s gone downhill! Unfortunately the previous vet left , I mean from my experience he was the only one that had some experience and expertise as a vet but now whoever is in charge is doing an awful job if I’m being honest! I got charged more than £1000 in less than 3 weeks for eye drops and regular checkups that literally don’t tell me nothing! I’m just being given all sorts of medicines and being charged a fortune for absolutely no reason and with no explanation of why the h e ll are we administrating this to the cats ! I’m very unhappy with the service and i will be moving to another practice in no time! The only person that’s still alright is the receptionist lady!

Second time we have been with these, we thought management had change from our last bad experience but afraid not... been going there for a while now and it seemed to have improved, but then all of a sudden we got told we had an unpaid bill, we asked what it was for, as all of ours had been covered by insurance, but they could not tell us, they could not even tell us for for pet it was for, we explained until we knew how this has happened and what it was for we would not pay it, just needed to know.. and that was the end of it, so we thought, tried getting an emergency appointment for my aging Lab who is in severe pain, to be told they would not see us because of the outstanding bill, which they still couldn't tell us what it was for.. They would rather let an animal suffer than treat them.Would just like to say that the young vet that works there is great, so helpful and this review has no reflection on his just the management, the ones that make the money....UPDATE : AND FOR IT NOT BEING TRUE.. HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT.up until yesterday you was not able to give us a breakdown, or indication of what the outstanding amount was for.. and this outstanding amount that you claim is over 2 years old, why didn't anyone get in touch sooner if that was the case???And the fact that your refused to see Rodney who is in a really bad way for the sake of outstanding amount of £140 which would have been paid weeks ago if you had been able to tell us what it was for. Just goes to prove its MONEY OVER ANIMAL WELFARE.The reason we left the first time was for the poor treatment of our Harold, you did not have a clue what to do with him and prolonged his suffering until we finally got him referred to a private hospital.. if we had known it was the same management at Petwell we would never have come back.Another updateOh you just get better… Rodney was in need of his monthly injection and you with held his records from the emergency vet so he’s not sure what he needs .. lowest of the low
