Deb Day Sewing Room

I took the beginners sewing class with not much previous experience except for minor stitching by hand. I wanted to learn to be able to sew with a machine and, with Deb's wonderful guidance and patience, I have definitely achieved my aim coming away with two amazing pieces in one day. Deb has great knowledge and is able to explain/demonstrate in a clear manner which is easy to follow. I would definitely recommend to anyone else looking to learn machine sewing, crafting or even to sample a new activity/hobby. I will be trying some of Deb's other classes and continue my sewing!

I have attended Deb's sewing room 4 or 5 times in the last year.i started with the beginner's course and progressed from there.Recently, I took a stretch course over 4 Saturdays. I had never sewn with stretch fabric before and needed Deb's calm guidance to complete 3 garments during the course. Deb has taught me everything I know about sewing, and I trusted her to give me the skills I would need to sew with stretch fabrics.What I really value is Deb's unflappable nature.Also, i really value that she knows when to step in and help when someone (me!) Is floundering.The sewing room is light and spacious, and everything is provided (apart from fabric which you bring with you), including tea, coffee and snacks.I'm really happy with what I made on the course and will be making more for the winter.I thoroughly recommend Deb's courses!

I attended the Absolute Beginners class last week and I had the best time!Deb is very knowledgeable and a very chill and calm person when explaining everything. I also noticed how kind and patient she was with those in the class who were struggling or getting frustrated.She offered further help and to stay in touch with future projects etc and really engaged with everyone in the class, I felt very welcome and comfortable.The class was very reasonably priced considering the extent of her knowledge, the materials provided, the length of the class and the fact you get two items at the end of it.I’m really hoping she can put an extra dressmaking course on starting in January as the current one is full and I would love to attend!

What a great day! Having not used a sewing machine since school, I really wanted to learn a new craft. Deb is so supportive and I was chuffed to bits being able to create 2 lovely projects. Lots of support from other learners in a lovely environment. Thanks Deb for an uplifting day!

I completed the “getting to know your sewing machine” class and honestly it was everything I expected and more! Deb is a great teacher and I had such a wonderful time learning how to use my sewing machine to get me started! I would highly recommend Deb Day sewing room! I had a wonderful relaxing day at the sewing room making my advent calendar which now has pride of place in my christmas decorations. Deb is a great teacher always ready to help and encourage me along the way. Looking forward to going on future courses to learn and improve my sewing skills. Thank you!

Just finished a 6 week course and really enjoyed it, learnt lots of new skills and gained confidence. Couldn't agree more that Deb is a great teacher making you feel welcome and at ease right from the start. Also enjoyed the company of my fellow sewers, a lovely positive experience all round .

I did the 6 week beginner sewing course. It was amazing! I succeeded in doing things I never imagined I could. - set in sleeves, a yoke, pockets!! Deb is a brilliant teacher with endless patience. I feel I learned so much and have really gained confidence. The sewing room is a fantastic space to spend time in, I would highly recommend Deb's courses. I'm already looking forward to my one day Christmas quilting experience!!
