The waffles are the stars of the show here. I'd definitely come back here for sweet treats with a tea or coffee, but not for a sandwich.Stopped in here twice while in Kirkwall. The waffles were superb - a real treat that felt carefully made. And they have GF options! Coffee and tea was decent. But the sandwiches we ordered were lacklustre. The coronation chicken was peely-wally on cheap bread, and the Orkney cheddar and red onion sandwich was very basic - not even any spread.

So disappointed with The Daily scoop this year. Has it changed hands. We used to love coming here when staying in Kirkwall. There's no selection of delicious sponge cakes. Service is so slow. We waited 25 minutes for two lattes. So many staff but most were standing about doing nothing

Despite being thoroughly harassed by grumpy tourists, the staff remained resilient and cheery. We dropped in for some ice cream and were warned that it would take longer than usual, due to their counter freezer having an issue. (They had to get it from the freezer in the back). Top marks! A team that communicates well with the customer and perseveres in a crisis.The ice cream itself was killer and the prices really good! Between us we had: chocolate, blue bubblegum, Irn Bru and vanilla. The latter was some of the best I've tasted! Will deffo be back.

15th Sept. First time I've been disappointed here. The menus and tables were sticky. The tables were not cleared after customers left and the cutlery and teapot we had was pretty manky. It is usually so good. Hopefully just a temporary blip.

Great place to have breakfast on a Sunday. All made from local produce. Only tried the more savoury of foods so one day will go back to try the sweeter stuff. Only thing was that the pizza waffle had a bit too much cheese on it - otherwise really good! Kept me full all day for a long Sunday hike.
