Popped in here looking for a car for a friend with a small budget.Now, while there are a few straight looking cars, there is an abundance of cars in disrepair, which I imagine how they all start out. Lots of panel gap issues, spray work...Never bought a car from here due to the above and those who have seem to be dropping one stars which suggests there are issues with the quality or customer service. Sure there might be a few cars worth a punt but if you're not knowledgeable about cars it's probably better to give it a miss, if you know cars, might be worth a look for a cheap car.This review was edited by request of the business owner.

This garage and Lloyd aren’t even worthy of 1 star! Wish I had seen some of the reviews scattered around before buying a car from this place! I have had nothing but problems, engine management light on and numerous other problems, promises from Lloyd never kept! Now he is refusing to answer my calls and emails even though the car is still under warranty! Appalling service! Avoid at all costs!

Just got a beautiful new car from Lloyd at Chelmsford City Cars and as usual he was so helpful, genuine and honest. He asked me what I wanted and got me the perfect car in quick time. I never use any other car dealers. I have seen a couple of negative reviews on here and I don't understand them because I have been getting cars from Lloyd for many many years and so do my friends and family and we have never had any issues. Cars break and need fixing, its part of life! A car dealer cant predict if a car will break months later. Lloyd is a top bloke and I cant recommend the dealership enough. Thanks again Lloyd, see you again when I need my next car : )

Amazing service from start to finish. My son saw the car online on Sunday night & it was delivered to South Wales by Wednesday. The car is immaculate inside & out 10/10 thank you so much will recommend to all

Avoid at all costs, bought a car from Lloyd, within a month the engine light was on and it broke down, after many missed calls he finally picked the car and up diagnosed the problem as broken turbo, (this took over a month) and fitted a new one, he agreed to extend the warranty by a month. It was smoking, he ignored my calls and messages, I had the AA out twice, (it had broke down in a dangerous place with my 6 year old in the car) and they noticed the turbo had been put back together with electrical tape. I took the car to a certified mechanic who noticed he hadn't even changed the oil when he refitted it. Decided to return the car as was still in warranty, he wouldn't answer my calls so I dropped it back at his yard with his mechanic. He still has not been in touch so I'm having to take him to court!Do not by a car from this dealership!

If I could him 0 stars I certainly would, drove all the way down to view a car, we just made a comment about the car having a clicking noise as we had a bad experience with our previous car which had a similar noise. He just said ok crack on, turned his back and walked away!! No attempt at explaining what this can possibly be and try to reassure us that this is nothing major!! He didn’t even move the cars in-front of it for us to do a test drive, felt like he did not want to be there on a Sunday morning!!!!I have never experienced dealing with such a rude salesman and of course after reading the reviews I’m actually glad we never purchased a car from him.Beware of this dealership, no manners , rude and just unprofessional!!!don’t waste your time to view their cars let alone purchase them!!

DO NOT BUY CARS FROM HERE! Had the most difficult time with the car I got from here, so many issues with the car! Took me two stressful months to get the car gone! Absolute joke! Not to mention I only just passed my test and this was my first car!
