Lovely place to walk dogs or as a detour if walking into Durham. You can see deer grazing often. Would give it a higher rating but the amount of dog foul around is disgusting, there are plenty of bins around too.

Stunning wee spot. Not too many benches but great for a walk in the sun. Lots of great views. Good long walks.

I always enjoy my time in this nature reserve where it is not unusual to encounter wild deer. Such a calm and relaxing experience walking through the meadows. If you haven't visited, you should think about going. It offers first rate views of the historic city of Durham.

Peaceful and scenic place perfect for a safe walk with the kids and their Pokémon. Some of the paths are very steep and can be slippery so may be difficult for wheelchairs and heavy buggies and for any who experiences difficulty walking (I often regret forgetting a stick), but that's Durham all over.

Beautiful views of Durham. Birds, animals (if you are quiet enough). Trains, including occasional steam once in a while (The Flying Scotsman was there). I just wish they plant more interesting trees that also do not obscure the views. After a walk you can have a nice lunch or tea in Durham or there are places in Aykley Heads and Newton Hall (try amazing cakes from The Kitchen in Newton Hall, about 8 min walk, but call them first to check they've got the European ones).

Wonderful walking and cycling area, in Durham city, with views back to the cathedral and an alternative route to the Aniston Center. Very peaceful and quiet.

Great views of city and beyond, often empty but busy at lunch time. Takes you from the train station to Newton Hall estate
