The West Wing

The studio in general is very clean and tidy, the bed fits one person only.There is no oven or (Stove) in the kitchen, it’s basically a microwave, and there is a small refrigerator in the room.Chris is a great manager, he and his team provides a very good services for the residents.Everything else seems good here, there’s also a 24 hours security in the place, the gym is closed due to the current situation of COVID-19.

They deliberately changed rooms without my permission. I tried to communicate by email but they just played dead. Never return emails, this is the most irresponsible landlord I've ever seen. Please don't rent their rooms.

The West Wing Student Accommodation is outstanding, with prime location and top-notch facilities. The dedicated staff ensures a secure and welcoming environment, fostering a sense of community among residents. Highly recommended for a comfortable and convenient student experience.

I came to The West Wing with a rather difficult situation which the team were extremely sympathetic and understanding about. The atmosphere at The West Wing is very laid back and friendly, it is a zero pressure environment built on honestly and the staff are willing to answer all questions and accommodate to your own personal needs. Every time I have popped into the office I have always been made to feel welcome and have enjoyed many chats with the staff. After dealing with tricky lettings agencies I can almost certainly say there is no going back, the difference in customer service goes without saying.The accommodation itself looks absolutely beautiful, and I can’t wait to call it my home for my final year of Uni. If you go into the office you can take a look inside the fantastic showrooms for both a studio room and a cluster flat, as well as see the floor plans for the entire building and pick your own room out (if you are ready to book) or would like to visualise the layout of the building.I will be living in a standard plus studio room next year, and I feel that compared to other student accommodation the pricing is very reasonable for my own needs and the types of services included at The West Wing (such as an on site gym). The accommodation is close to town and Cardiff Uni on foot whilst also being in a relatively quiet area away from the busyness of the city centre.Over all, I can’t recommend The West Wing enough - the staff are absolutely lovely and I already feel like a part of the family. I very much look forward to living there in September and can’t wait to show my family and friends around!

I have been here for three years already, but recent years (2022-2023), students are super noisy, I can’t really focus when I sit in the study area. The girl who is laughing and inviting a lot of friends to the study zone, which always happened. I think the study area should be silent. And also nobody come to repair my fridge for days after I reported. Really upset

It was impressive when I moved in during the first day! It’s a brand new student accommodation and the modern appearance outside looks fantastic! Even the construction work hasn’t finished completely but it doesn’t impact the living experience and enjoyment at all.All the staff in the reception are so kind. They did me a huge favour and make my moving so much easier! Coffee and desserts are provided in the study room, which is a terrific place for quiet reading, study and work.The rooms and kitchen are all well-equipped. There’s a massive space for storing luggage and things in each room. Bathroom is spacious and bright. Everything looks shining. The good location and 24/7 security just make life cosier and more pleasant.Will definitely recommend The West Wing to my friend and all students. It meets all your expectations and will give you an unforgettable living and studying experience. I was really stunned by the efforts the staff members take to make our stay comfortable. The courtyard stands out from most of the accomodations in Cardiff with the new lights and covered seating arrangements. Living in a studio couldn't have been more comfortable with a decent room space and much more than asked utility storages. To sum it up, one would never feel out of place when in west wing because the people around along with the staff will never let you feel low and would always have so much on the plate to offer.

I stayed at The West Wing from September 2022 - June 2023, and overall my experience there was great. The reception and security staff are friendly and helpful, and are quick to help when there is a problem. Additionally, they occasionally offer treats to residents like cans of Sprite and Dr Pepper, and cookies. As for the building itself, it is modern, kept very clean, has great security measures, and there are stairwells and lifts in every block. There is a free gym for residents to use, which is kept clean and has a designated cleaning time, a TV lounge, private dining room, study pods, table-tennis tables, a pool table, quiet study area, laundry room, and a lovely courtyard with deckchairs. In each flat, there is a kitchen with fridge-freezers, an oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a lounge area with a TV, sofa, and table. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and plenty of storage. Its location is great - just a 10 minute walk from Cardiff city centre, 20 minutes from Cardiff University’s Student Union and Lidl, and less than 5 minutes from the nearest pub. The nearest hospital and GP service is just across the road at Cardiff Royal Infirmary.There were a couple of issues but nothing unfixable. For a few days in March 2023, there was an issue with the water supply due to a fault from Welsh Water, but reception helped with this by providing bottled water, to residents who asked, on the first night. It was annoying but fixed relatively quickly. The fire alarm frequently goes off, but I think this is people not knowing how to cook properly, rather than a fault with the alarm. In the laundry room, they use Circuit Laundry which can make living costs add up, but this is a minor inconvenience.Despite the small number of problems, I would definitely recommend The West Wing to other people.

I lived at this property for one year. At first it seems to be a very nice place to live at, BUT, and it’s a big BUT, they were tricky with me. I got my a very new clean room with no damages with everything, after one year when I was about to leave , at the day of checkout I asked for my £100 deposit, they said we will check the room tomorrow and if nothing damaged , the deposit will be directly sent to your bank account, I agreed and left the building.After two weeks I received an email from #theWestWing saying that my deposit will be deduced because there was a tear to mattress !!!!I was completely shocked, because I am 100% sure that when I left the room mattress has no damage, and was in an excellent conditions.I claimed that everything was fine when I left, they sent me a video which showed the mattress cut !!!!.I was extremely shocked.BUT I had nothing to do , because I did not record and videos or photos of the room before I leave it.So I just lost my £100.I do not recommend to stay at the West Wing even if you like the property.

Affordable prices in the heart of the city. Lovely staff. Large open spaces with pool table,foosball table,cinema room,gym and study area.Very ideal for Engineering and Computer Science students of Cardiff University since it is just 3min walk.
