Terrible solicitors, avoid at all costs. Broke original agreement, neglected me through the whole process and massively overcharged me on my invoice.

Avoid these solicitor at all cost.Over charging, increase hourly rate when dealing with your file half way through the contract.The solicitor I was very poor and did nothing for me.They even download content from the internet, Part 36 offer and said they created the flow chart, and billed me massively for it. I was refunded the money when I questioned the cost.I will be reporting to the Ombudsman this corrupt family law firm. AVOID..

I changed solicitors at the beginning of what turned out to be a not very nice divorce and Joanne took me under her wing and thank goodness she did. Joanne is very thorough in her work and really goes the extra mile to make sure everything is understood and clear, which to none legal people like me is so important. Joanne is also a very caring and empathetic person and went out of her way to make sure I was OK during a period when I was a bit low and that really made a difference. She showed me that there is light at the end of a long and curving tunnel and I would not hesitate to recommend her very highly.

The original solicitor handling my case left McAlister Law near the ending of my case and Melissa Jones took control of my case. I was unsure whether to proceed with McAlister because I did not know Melissa. I should not have worried.Melissa’s handling of the case was perfect. I found her to be professional, approachable, and very focused. I used Mcallister Family Law for financial seperation.They know what they're doing and they get the job done but if you want the best value for money, I highly advise you shop around and go elsewhere. They quoted me double in the beginning what any other law firm quoted and then still managed to almost double that figure again by the end.I had Anna for my representation - roughly 12 months qualified when handling my case. I can't speak for whether this is solely Anna's work ethic or the general work ethic of Mcallister Family Law but here are several of my issues:*Over the course of the case I had to consistently point out grammar/spelling errors in the letters she would be forwarding to the opposing solicitor, every single letter had several issues. I stopped pointing them out in the end as I was being billed per email and some of the monthly bills coming in were phenominal when taking into consideration the work actually being achieved.*I was billed in the region of £1800 one month which was pretty much the cost of putting together my first counter offer.*Anna would suggest phonecalls as often as she could, which aren't cheap and when looking back in hindsight, were unnecessary.*Anna would ask me to send information over which she would decide not to use at any point in the future.*I asked Anna questions on several occaissions which she did not respond to.*Comparing my phone bill to that of the solicitors bill, I also noticed I was being billed on phone calls for durations that exceeded the actual call length by 6 minutes on some, which believe me adds up over a few phone calls.In a nutshell, if you need representation for financial seperation, Mcallister Family Law will get the job done no two ways about it. They will cost you though, very easily triple the going rate for a financial seperation.For anybody who finds themselves in the position I found myself in when hit with the daunting letter of an opposing solicitor regarding divorce etc. DO NOT panic, take your time, shop around and find the best deal to get the right representation for you, there are law firms out there that will find the balance between service and profit rather than capitalise on the vulnerability of others.

Chris Fairhurst was fabulous throughout my long and difficult case. His communication is excellent and made things easy for me to understand and make decisions. Chris is friendly and very approachable he was always on the end of the phone for me to discuss concerns and he reassured me through a very difficult time.
