What can I say. Appalling clothes everywhere ph manager cant find her staff ones on her hour lunch break while the others chit chat. Lifts don't work appaling I've been to zara in Spain and its so darn better it puts this one to shame. Zara sort your stuff out or shut down. Half the cubicles in the try on part of the store is shut cos of boxes upon boxes off stock. If there was another zara near by I'd use them over you. GET IT SORTED ZARA.

Fabulous new interior layout however staff need to take a leaf out of there European partners ... they are helpful courteous and professional ..this doesn't exist at the metro centre store .

Went to do an exchange on Saturday afternoon at the new flag ship store in the metro centre Gateshead to be forced to endure the worst customer service in my life !there were four work stations with only two manned and I counted a queue of forty customers waiting to be served not counting the ones that gave up and left. The process was so slow made worse by the operation of the cashier’s having to put its back on hangers a put security tags back on ( why not have an assistant there to do this when busy to take the pressure off the servers)The managers were called on several occasions to support with return issues but instead of leading the team they did what was needed and shot off behind the screen not a word of apology to the frustrated queues or an offer of opening another station if this is a flag ship store I would hate to experience ones further down the ladder

I can only reiterate the other 1 star reviews about this store and in particular the staff. Rude, disorganised and no communication skills.There were more staff than customers on the evening of 19/10.I had approximately £230 worth of goods. I wanted to pay £200 cash and the remainder on my card. I had to ask 3 staff the same question of where I could pay and on each occasion mumbled at and directed to a card only self service. Again I asked and I was directed to the returns desk.I waited to be served then when the cashier became free stepped forward to be told ‘if you can wait whilst I do this..’ she then proceeded to start returning stock items around the shop.Eventually after 10 minutes she returned and greeted me not with a ‘hello’ or any general nicety but with ‘Do you want a bag’. They were the only words spoken during the transaction by the staff.I paid and then the song & dance about paying cash, summoning a manager over as if there was an issue to again count the monies. I would hate to see how these people would cope in a high end store or even a large city like Madrid.If I hadn’t of needed the items in a rush I would have left them at the desk and bought online.Maybe I am naive expecting customer service! I’m sure the staff will have something to say when the store closes as more people shop online as they are atrocious and it is not an experience I’d like to repeat.

Store is good but changing room staff member with blue hair was very rude, practically snatched clothes out of my hands to beep them into the machine to the changing rooms, and when I asked if they have a pair of jeans in another size replied, go check yourself.

Visited this new store yesterday and everything about it was a mess! I never thought I’d say this!!! Firstly everything is scattered all over the shop with no apparent logic. Really had to search about for basics section for tees and vests. Signage was at an absolute minimum so walked around a very busy store for a good five minutes looking for the escalator. The huge mirrors on the walls look like walkways into next part of store, they’re not lol. As for the staff, oh my, I hate typing things like this as I have worked at the front end of retail, but: Awful (except the floor manager, lovely lady who agreed on all our points and had similar feedback), we were quite loudly and vocally acting lost and one member of staff completely ignored us. The self service tills are awful, I couldn’t get a security tag off an item and the woman there snapped at me for “not doing it right”. I’m old enough to be her mother, rude. There’s perfume counters down the centre of self serve which just caused chaos. An elderly man needed help in a till and was being ignored so I helped him. Staff on returns (had to bring something back the next day) were surly, like the lady on another review she left me standing there as she fiddled about for ages putting a shirt on a hanger. She was generally very cold and unfriendly. Tills at Zara have always been dreadful, didn’t think you could make it worse; you have. I don’t think I’ll be back. Awful!!!! Sort it out Zara, your Geordie customers won’t stand for it for long!!!! Zara I challenge you to reply!!!!

Shocking customer service. I had a gift from Zara that I wanted to exchange but they wouldn't let me despite it being new and me having the receipt. The reason being I was past the date of return. I didn't want a credit note just an exchange. I did try and get there but you were closed due to fire alarm and now I am turned away. Shocking and unhelpful.Will never return.

Kicked out for holding a coffee.Security stated no fluids are allowed in case they are spilled which is ridiculous. Whilst i found it amusing i struggle to see how parents with children who have a bottle / drink etc. will be able to shop in this store as they would be likewise kicked out.

New store is dreadful you can only move between floors by using the one tiny lift or exiting the shop and using the escalator outside which is not ideal if you wish to purchase stuff from both floors. Signage throughout the store is poor and very confusing. Long queues when you eventually find the tills which are mainly self service which I do not like when clothes shopping, you are more or less barred from using a till with an actual human. I was assisted by a rather miserable member of staff with the self service till which clearly seemed to be a chore for her. Had I been purchasing something for myself and not my daughters I would have left without anything. Overall a very disappointing experience. I will not be returning any time soon.

What an awful experience I had in this store. 10/10/23 11amThe staff don’t have a clue what’s going on, three members of staff were unable find a member of management to help on the till, it took 15 mins. I had already waited 30 minutes in a que to return and exchange items, the lady who served me refunded all the items then told me had to join another que to buy a item because she refunded the items instead of exchanging them like I asked her in the first place. The till que I joined said exchange or refund!!!And not one apology for my wait or her mistake. I even watched her hang the faulted joggers up I had returned and then later found them back on the shop floor tagged to be resold, the joggers had been worn and had a hole in which I had explained, I asked if she had anymore at the till but she told me to go and look myself which I couldn’t because I couldn’t find them, she just grunted.My mam was paying cash for an item in and was told she had to go upstairs to pay, she then had to stand upstairs 20 mins in another que. there was one person on the till, mean while we could see members of staff talking among themselves. I refuse to go back to this shop again. The new store has improved but the staff are worse than before ! All you could hear were customers complaining amongst theirselves and aiming their frustration at the staff. Really horrible experience, if i could give it zero stars I would.
