Hidden Gem, very very good, I had never seen so many tanks. You could go inside them too. I liked the way that you were personally chatted to. The knowledge and information gathered there was immense. We turned up at 10am on a Sunday to find a cafe doing breakfasts too. Sadly we'd just eaten. Have told many of our visit

It was by chance we found this place. Lots of exhibits, very interesting. It was amazing. There is a WW1 tank there. Great place to go for all ages.

Loads of passionate tankers here that will happily talk about their wonderful projects. This place was a real treat to visit. There is a faithful recreation of a WWI mk4 you can get inside and explore. Loads to see and do. Loved getting taken around the weapons and getting to hold some of them. Gives you a real hands-on impression of the vehicles and weaponry from decades of warfare. Any enthusiasts will love this place. The staff were amazing, entertaining the boys and making sure my partially sighted wife stayed safe around the exhibits. Cafe on site. Shared toilet facilities. Wish I could visit on an event day, which must be a real experience. Seemed to have good wide access for wheelchairs as well, even with loads of multi tonne vehicles all over. Well worth the entry price.

Had never heard of this place until a customer mentioned it to me as somewhere they had stumbled across recently. Unfortunately, there is no brown sign from the a140 to promote their existence. Anyhow, arrived around 11am on a Wednesday, parked up and had a warm greeting from the lady in their cafe - it's where you also bought the tickets. A recommendation was also casually offered for a ride around their off-road course. Naturally, that sounded a fun experience so we gave that a go too. Everyone who worked or assisted there was happy to chat, the off road course was a blast (I'll say no more to avoid spoiling the fun) and the tanks were not roped off allowing us to get up close for a good nose around. Some were also open so could be entered too. Didn't try the food from the cafe but did overhear others complimenting the cook. Kitchen is open for all to see how clean it is - if we had not brought a picnic, I would have had no hesitation ordering food. There are picnic tables to use and a kids timber playground area is available too.I'd describe this place as a little rough and ready BUT that is one of its charms and certainly not a criticism. It is off the usual touristy beaten track - probably because there is no brown sign from the a140 - but once you find it, it's a hidden gem.

My goodness, where do I start?! I took my 7-year-old a d he absolutely loved it, as did we all.It has a great little cafe and so many tanks and other items such as genuine artefacts from ww2. The staff are so knowledgeable, and for just £4 you can go for a ride around off road in a tank. If you love military museums you need to visit this place.

Proper hidden gem pretty local. Even though it’s a smaller museum than most in size, it’s quality over quantity. You’re allowed on and in most of the tanks, the staff are super knowledgeable and friendly and it has some very rare vehicles and weapons which i can imagine are impossible to find.Well worth the trip
