Wellesbourne Household Waste Recycling Centre

Just been to the recycling shop on site, was greeted by a lovely lady called Suzanne who along with the other staff made us feel happy we went…and we bought some great things. Thanks

The most unhelpful and rude staff. I was parked in the queue waiting so thought i would just look to see where the ovens were put. No sign of a hardstanding for them, only TV's. So I found a member of staff and said 'excuse me'. I was completely ignored. I asked again and got grunted at but my question was answered short and sharp. I then asked if I could have a hand to lift it into the skip and was told 'absolutely not' and that he had been the only member of staff on all day and if he helped me he'd have to help everyone. He then told me that I would be barred if i reversed my car next to a skip again as I could have hit someone. The layout of this place is awful, queues are massive as you are always waiting for the slowest person (not the persons fault), there is nowhere to place large items and the staff are rude and like to moan about their jobs. Burton Farm in Stratford is the complete opposite, I will always travel that bit further from now on to friendly staff and a good layout. It really annoyed me!

The local authority is shocking for not opening this facility while still charging full council tax . There is no earthly reason why this is still closed . The far more professional council in neighbouring Oxfordshire have fully opened theirs months ago . Pathetic. Is it any wonder why we constantly see fly tipping in lay-byes etc when the tips are not open ?

Only generally use the shop to grab a few bits. Recently went in with my parents who were looking at a China tea set. While looking at one in particular a local elderly woman was clearly a regular customer was chatting to the staff member. Once my parent decided on the purchase the label wasn’t clear of the price so we asked the member of staff. He gave us a price we paid and left to put in the boot of the car. Only to be followed by a rude elderly woman accusing us of ripping off the charity. However she wouldn’t stop around to discuss what her issue was. I can only presume she wanted the set as everything my parents picked up she purchased.Anyway we returned a month later to hear the member of staff talking to a new member of staff. Clearly in the hearing of myself he was saying to the other member of staff watch them they change the prices on the goods they pick up. After being watched for the ten minutes a purchase was made.To say he was rude is a understatement,

Sadly the opening times given on the age website are incorrect. Whilst the tip closes at 3.15pm the shop closes at 3pm. They have to cash up before the gates close apparently! How do the tip operatives get out? Perhaps they sleep there....

We come here sometimes as we like a rummage .A lot of the time now you get told that what you want to buy is worth so much in eBay .I am not shopping for eBay but just want a bargain.Also recently I went there with my daughter in law and she asked to use the toilet.The woman serving said yes and proceeded to send us over to Sainsbury's.I thought that if you had a toilet and you were providing a service to the public you should let them use it by law .not just pregnant women and disabled people as the woman told us how can you distinguish between I think this needs addressing.This is why some people don't come anymore also the prices of some things are expensive as they look on the internet where is the charity in that when sometimes the thing you have purchased is broken when you get it home when they have assured you it is fit for purpose .Also there is a new lady who is very patronising to customers just remember we are keeping your shop open .

Staff are always very helpful. Easy to find where to put things as only a small centre.

The people working there are perfectly fine ...the facility is let down by it's size and design where anyone unloading cardboard or anything forces everyone to queue in their cars.Best go at quiet times when it's raining!Or if there were a couple of late evening openings in the summer months but that would involve paying the employees more.

We arrived today 30 minutes before the advertised closing time of 3.15pm only to have the gates shut right in front of our car. The explanation was that the large rubbish containers were being exchanged. The exchange did not begin for a further 10 minutes and finished at 3.12pm. The staff then walked off the premises leaving several very frustrated people who had waited patiently to use the service outside locked gates. Surely the exchange could have waited for the centre to close before beginning their work. As it was we all had to return home, unload the vehicles only to repeat the process again tomorrow.
