On entering the shop there were customers everywhere. Restaurant was closed so had to settle for a takeaway. A lady had to tell us where the end of the queue was. We ordered two special fish then waited almost a half hour to get them. The few chips that were hiding under the fish were ok but the fish was like rubber. Will be giving this place a miss next time we are in the area.

Not sure what’s happened to this place fish was cooked fresh / made to order went last week fish was dry looked as if it had been lying in heater for ages taste was disgusting service was shocking more interested in arguing with customer than try to please them only few months ago place was the best hope this is only temporary and owner / fish fryer is maybe on holiday if not won’t be going back to this place again shame as chips are fantastic wouldn’t have fed the fish to the birds

Fantastic fish and chips, sausage, battered haggis, pies etc (although no gravy available) they also do pizzas. Prices are great and portions are large too. Would definitely visit again and send to be very popular.

I was visiting the town and wanted a quick meal. Went into the restaurant upstairs. Asked for fish and salad and a coffee, with brown bread and butter. No coffee, no brown bread. When the meal first arrived, it came with chips. When it arrived a second time, it had some lack lustre salad and 70% of the fish was batter. The fish was dry and tasteless. The bread was a single slice of dry bread. When i went to pay, the cashier tried to charge me £16 instead of the £8.50. it took 2 staff before they got it right. My advice, give this place a miss.

It was among the best fish and chips I've ever had in Scotland! The fish was flaky and fresh, and the chips were cooked to perfection. Additionally, it was prepared at the proper temperature by a welcoming staff. It would become a regular if it were closer.

Stopped off on way back to Edinburgh, ordered fish and chips absolutely superb quality fish 2 big halves of white flaky haddock in a crispy batter cost £10.45 but fresh fish is expensive nowadays big portions worth every penny will definitely return.

Fish and chips. For me the best in the local area. Even beats the shop in Anstruther, In my opinion. We will be back soon.... Our order was cooked fresh and was piping hot. Brilliant....Great place to go for Fish and chips or pizza.
