The Crusoe
We went for dinner for two on a semi-busy Saturday night. No drinks menu was provided, made it hard to choose a drink. Starters were good and arrived quickly. However there was a long wait (45 mins) for our mains, and we watched on as a large table next to us received their mains first despite arriving later than us. When the mains arrived, the fish and chips was disappointing, as the fish was greasy and the chips were undercooked. Seafood linguine was just okay.Overall, front of house staff were good, it felt like the kitchen was just overwhelmed. Can't help but wonder how much worse it would have been if the restaurant had been full.

The food here never let's us down, portions are great, food is tasty and we love that the menu is always changing with something new on everytime we go.

We stayed in the Largo Pier Suite and we could not fault the room or the breakfast. The room itself had a very comfortable bed with a large Smart TV that rotates 180 degrees so you can watch it whilst sitting on the sofa or bed. The bath next to the window was novel. But don’t worry there is a shower room as well. The balcony is small but has two seats and a table and the view of the bay is amazing. The breakfast is very nice as well and the staff are friendly and flexible if you want to tweak the breakfast. Finally the location itself is lovely and only a short drive to St Andrews and Edinburgh which is less than an hour away. Highly recommended.

We had Sunday lunch here yesterday (roast beef) and it was simply marvellous. Portion size was immense, quality of ingredients was outstanding and it was cooked perfectly. Staff were only too happy to help.I can only highly recommended a visit.

this is an excellent hotel. the rooms are cozy with a beautiful view of the sea. The team working here is very friendly. I wish I could stay longer! I will definitely be back.

The food is delicious, with various selections of dishes. They also have lots of room for many people. I also like how you can choose where to eat, inside or outside.

We stayed at The Crusoe for four nights. The rooms are freshly renovated and cosy. Impressive views from the suite' terrace overlooking the pier and sea always changing with the tides. Great breakfast and food in the restaurant. We used the Crusoe as a base to visit St . Andrews and Crail, which are 20-30 minutes away! Would come back here!

Popped in for lunch, (best to phone ahead and reserve seats, very popular) and had a warm welcome from staff.Very good menu, reasonably priced.Beefburgers to die for.

It's a fantastic location, it atrocious for parking anywhere close. Streets are very narrow while driving in the town. That's not the restaurant's fault. Really nice old building. Service was very slow, about 1 h 15m to get our meal, not sure if this is usual. They gave us 20% off for the inconvenience. The roast beef I had was good along with the vegetables, but they gave me 2 roast potatoes and one was actually hollow!I wish I good be more generous, the location, building and staff are all very nice.
